Black Swann isn't a film I'd want to watch.
A friend of mine has seen Red Riding Hood, and he recommends that I watch it. As he knows my taste in films, this gives me some hope for the film, even with the angstiness of it.

The scenery has artistic styling, but none that makes any sort of sense. It's like the director went "Hmmm, Grandmother's woods need to be foreboding. LET'S PUT THORNS THE SIZE OF BASTARD SWORDS ON EVERYTHING!" Besides that, it lacked anything remotely approaching tension.
And don't even get me started on the "werewolf."

Ah, another Twlight werewolf. Total rubbish. I won't rush out to see it but will watch it when it comes on sky.

Haha im a little late on this thread, been away for a while. Yea im responsible for dragging Fen to see this one an my god i couldn't stop laughing, especially when the freakin werewolf talked. I mean the beast was like the twilight werewolf that just got out of the shower, and i guess they had hair gel back in the day. Gary Oldman was the only light of hope in this steaming tird and they killed him. Watching Gary Oldman act in this movie was like I was watching Jack Nicholson in the Wizard of OZ. Anyway... Im done. Yet another joke hollywood has made for all werewolf fans to die a little inside.

Would love to see a red riding hood film, where the wolf talks as it does in the fairytale. Done in a similar sureal style, a cross between sleepy hollow and company of wolves. I think the closest we'll get for awhile is Company of Wolves. The werewolf in Van Helsing looked more realistic (and cooler too). If they could make a CGI werewolf that looked as good, if not better than Avatar effects, it might be okay. But then, part of the reason CGI worked in Avatar was because everything was so colorful and bright, may not translate so well on a werewolf (unless it sparkled ).

Watched this flm yesterday. Went in with low expectations, and was surprised that it was better than I expected. As a werewolf film, I agree it's not great, but as a slightly darker take on Red Riding Hood I think it works great.
The wolf wasn't amazing, but was good enough (though it needed a good brushing) and i think it wouldn't have worked if it'd been a biped version.
I think it's far better than twilight.

I like the 2 scooby doo films I've seen. There nice and silly, with special *arrgh forgot the word!!* to shaggy.
I like that the wolf talks too. As it does in most of the fairytale versions.
I'd like them to do a set of these films, for the different fairytales, goldelocks - maybe along the lines of a village in the woods, are plagued by killer bears, who keep stealing all the villages food, and they decided to offer goldelocks up as a sacrifice to try to apease the bear, only for her to discover that there are three of them, one being a cub, and the bear is stealing the food because it's injured due to the actions of one of the villages in the past..

I liked the scenery shots but hated the movie. It was so predicable and i found the characters so unlikeable i really didn't give a shit what happened to them. I found the heroine particularly annoying. It had such potential but the movie makers are so desperate to cash in on Twlight they will ruin good concepts in order to make them suitable for the Twlight audiences. The new howling movie is a classic example and as werewolf movie fans we are suffering as a result!
