My completely baseless and wishful-thinking hope is that this movie creates enough awareness that Fox or whoever now owns the rights decides it's a good time to capitalize and release the Werewolf TV show on DVD...pipe dream, I'm sure.

Universal ownes the rights, but I'm sure it will generate some short werewolf DVD mania, like when "King Kong" was released everybody started releasing their ape and gorilla pictures, and the same happend with a lot of public domain pics. "Pirates of the C" did the same.

ShockTillYouDrop.com is reporting that Rick Baker's doing the wolf effects for this film.

If Baker is truly going to work on this film, I can only hope it will be more like AWIL and less like Wolf and Cursed.

Considering Baker's love for the origional, who knows. He might prefer sticking closer to the Jack Pierce make up.

Hmm, well Baker is definitely the go-to guy so it makes he'd be involved somewhere. I thought his makeup for Wolf was the right decision for that particular movie. I didn't think much of the werewolves in Cursed, but apparently a lot of Baker's work was scrapped anyway so it's hard to say how much of it was down to him. Know what else Rick Baker worked on? Ed Wood ...

I hope this is true as Rick Baker is the man who helped re-invent werewolves for a modern audience.
Please be true.

Well, Rick Baker IS doing the make up FX for The Wolfman. Confirmed by Director Mark Romanek himself. They've been meeting and prepping for a while now. Check out the awesome pic below that Romanek took of Del Toro and Baker larking around. Dunno about you, but I reckon Benicio looks pretty damn scary here even before Rick has done any work on him. Consider me well and trully jazzed now for this movie. ;D Full story at Ain't it Cool www.aintitcool.com/node/33951

I do have high hope that more werewolf movies will be released on DVD as a result of this movie, but I honestly expect it to be a good film in its own right, with all the talent involved. I hate the idea that the name "Wolf Man" is currently associated with VAN HELSING's werewolves.

That pic is without any makeup applied. Says so in the article it came from.
