Hi, just wondering if someone here can help me identify a werewolf movie i saw as a young child, all i remember from it is that the werewolf gets chased by police through the sewers where they shoot it. it's probably an 80's movie, very bloody, possibly a tv series, but very violent. oh and it's not an american werewolf in london, thanks

Could it be Hammer's "Legend of the Werewolf"?
From Noel...
Legend of the Werewolf (1975) Directed by: Freddie Francis Written by: Anthony Hinds Starring: Peter Cushing, Ron Moody, Hugh Griffith, Roy Castle ... Running Time: 85 min Release Date: 1975 Certificate: UK - 18, USA - NR (released 1987), Australia - M, Norway - 15
A child brought up by wolves is adopted and exploited by a travelling circus. When he grows up, he kills one of the employees and runs away to Paris. There he falls in love with a prostitute, and at the full moon turns into a wolf and jealously murders her clients. He is pursued by a determined police surgeon.
I seem to remember it ending in the sewers of Paris.... This could be it

"Legend of the Werewolf" is not a Hammer Film, although it did star Hammer regular Peter Cushing.
The only Werewolf film Hammer ever did was "Curse of the Werewolf" with Oliver Reed

I thought it was a Hammer film as well. Wonder why they only made one werewolf movie? They made loads of vampire ones.

It is weird that Hammer only made one Werewolf movie, in fact, it's equaly weird they weren't planning on making a wereolf movie at all. Hammer was producing a film around the Inquisition of Spain, and for some reason they just didn't get round to making it. No scenes were shot, but they did build the sets, and lots of em! So instead of making that film, they decided to film the book "Werewolf of Paris" (or something like that) and transported the stroy to Spain. And now for the tasty Naschy side-dish: Naschy finds this film particularry interresting, since it is situated in his homeland, Spain. Naschy's werewolf was origionally going to be Spanish, but the cencorship of General Franco, at the time dictator of Spain, didn't allow it and the wolf was from there on Polish. Naschy's werewolf succes MIGHT be linked to the lack of good werewolf movies in that era. It might just be why (to some people) Naschy's Wolfman became much like Christopher Lee's Dracula or Peter Cushing's Frankenstein. Also the Hammer Inquistion film was never produced, although Naschy made a few (great) films that had to do with Spain's dark history, including "Horror rises from the Tomb" and "The Devil's Possesed" both about evil Lord's living (or horribly dying ) in the Inquisition, and his directorial debut, the great "Inquisition"... (God I talk...)
