Do you prefer your werewolves on two legs (bipedal) or on 4 legs (quadruped)? I personally enjoy werewolves that are on two legs.

A good question asked by many, I like both depending on the movie. I think a byped has more potential to be a bad ass where as a quad is more like a fierce animal.

Biped every time.

Depends on the setting. I tend to prefer Bipeds, but if the story/film works better with Quadropeds than I'd rather they do that than try to force it to work with a biped.
One I do like is them which tend to be primary a Biped, but use their arms as legs for certain actions situations. Not sure what the fancy name for a creature that does like (like bears or apes for example).

I like this version by Aaron Sims that is sort of a mix between the two (could easily switch between the two): art-of-fantasy.org/pics/details/621.htmlFor me, running werewolves seem more imposing somehow on four legs. But they should be able to stand before you, towering over you, too. Shawn L.

Yeah, I like it when they can drop down to all fours for running fast, than raise up for walking/fighting. - bit like bears.
Didn't like the four legged running in The Wolfman though. The werewolf design just didn't suit that at all.

Bipedal. I like the anthromorphic look. Although I kind of think the werewolves should have a tail... Same with werecats, I don't even think you see any bipedal werecats with as little mythology surrounding them as there is.

I definitely prefer prefer the 2-legged kind of werewolf, I think the only wolf-werewolf that I've ever been able to accept was in Wolf (the Jack Nicolson one) just because it fit the movie better. Of course, the four-legged werewolf in Ginger Snaps was pretty good too.

Yep, it was from "The Chronicles of Narnia" -- if I thought they might actually look that cool in the movie, I'd have probably watched it Shawn L.

Ah right! Yes of course it was. I think we did a thread on it! I wasn't keen on that film i have to say.

Yup, we did do a thread about the werewolf from narnia. Though most of it was guessing what it'd be like as the tread was pre-film, though it did have a photo of the wolf in his cloak.
I hadn't realised that particular image was done as a concept for Narnia. I've seen it on a few image sites, but haven't noticed any reference between it and the film.

Running on four legs is faster, and standing on two makes them so much more imposing. I say go for both.
