Hardly any mention of "Waxwork" (1988) on the forum. And it's one of my favorites!
It's a FAB 80s horror film starring David Warner and Patrick Macnee. It's set in and around a House of Wax (no really?!) featuring waxworks of most classic film monsters : Dracula, Frankenstein etc. Lot's of gothic horror characters coming to life 80s style, gore and all! Very witty little film. Great balance between 80s horror cliches and classic horror situations.
...and John Rhys-Davies (Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings, The Living Daylights) as a Werewolf! Not sure what to think about the way he looks - but boy is he mean!
I love this film!

I think this is mentioned in a thread on here, it just never got it's own. This is on my list of things to see.

I have never seen this but have been meaning to pick it up. It comes in a two pack with 1 and 2.

I enjoyed this film. The various exhibitions were neat segments and the werewolf looked pretty good.
I'll have to check my collection to see if I remembered to re-buy it as a DVD.
The sequal isn't a very good film, and a very bad sequal to the 1st one.

Part 2 has it's moments. The first half is pretty cool, but for some reason most of the second half of the film is a sort of gothic swashbuckler adventure. Despite of this I would not have minded a 'Waxwork III'
Just checked, region 1 disc does indeed feature both films

Don't know much about watching films online, so cannot suggest a place. I do know Amazon has DVDs of it for sale.

I really liked this movie and thought they did a good job with the werewolf. Only complaint is the hunters did not already have their rifle loaded with silver bullets when they were going to hunt a werewolf.
This is a very good and very under rated film. Parts 1 and 2 are currently available in Fearnet on demand.

Not a big fan of number 2. But the 1st one is excellent.
@horrorfan They were only made of wax, you cannot expect them to be that good at forward thinking.

I still don't get why half of part 2 is about swashbuckling... It was a fun film, but it could have been more like nr. 1 which is an underated classic.
