A new 2 part programme called Alice starts tommorrow, 27th, in the UK. Cannot remember which side, and it's on in the evening, I want to say 8pm or 9pm but I don't remember for sure. Its basically a modern version of Alice in wonderland/through the looking glass. It showed a clip of the jabberwocky which looked pretty good. And it had some recognisable actors in it, at least I recognised a couple  |

yeah one of the stars of Primeval is in it as the mad hatter, although i don't think i'll ever be able to see anyone other than Jonny Depp in that role now. Did anyone actually catch this because i forgot it was on.

Yup, I watched part one. And I enjoyed it. Looking forward to part 2 tommorrow.
It was interesting to see how they changed some of the characters. The key characters from the story are all human, with traits to identify them as what their supposed to be, like the white rabbit, has white hair and two pony tails looking almost like laid back rabbit ears.
The Mad Hatter, isn't very mad unfortunately. But does own a tea shop.
The city is cool with its unseen floor, and suspended walkways and aquaducts.
The white knight was good too. The actor who plays him would probably have done a nice mad hatter if they'd given him the role.
For me Jonny Depp didn't do a 'definative' mad hatter. I always picture the mad hatter with a slight edge under his zany insanity which Jonny's one was missing.

Now you've got me thinking what films he's done where he was the villian . . .
I can only think of one, very early in his career, and I could be mixing him up with another actor.

He has been a bad a few times. Nothing special. He just isn't a good actor unless he plays a light hearted character.

Yeah can't see him as a bad guy.
I found Alice a bit too slow in places and rhe ending was no where near as good as it could have been. The guy from Primeval did a good hatter i thought though.

I was slightly disappointed at the ending too, bit of an anticlimax. Would have been more fun if:
SPOILER ALERT
the white knight's idea had been to lure the jabberwacky.
Or had brought Jack the old red kings armour and weapons.
Definately needed a bigger finish.

Effectively it ended with Alice giving the Queen of Hearts a ticking off, i mean wtf??? You didn't see enough of the jabberwocky either which was disappointing.
