Well, I liked it!
Pros: -Good story, acting, direction. -Interesting and unusual werewolf design. -The transformation scenes were brief but cool. -Almost no CGI.
Cons: -The werewolf is off screen for the vast majority of the run time. -The werewolf is pig-ugly and bald. -I guessed the twist 10 minutes in, and you will too.
Still in two minds about the ugly, bald werewolf. It was kinda cool in a way. So yeah, a good, solid movie. The director and cast did a Q and A after the film and I was genuinely surprised to hear that it was shot in a very short time with very little money- it doesn't really show. Except for the lack of on-screen werewolf of course (my main problem with the film)- which was perfectly understandable once I found out that they only had 1 day to film all the werewolf scenes!
Something like a 7.5/10 for me. Will most likely buy it when it comes out on DVD in 2 months.

I see Keywolf and I share the same avatar. When I clicked into this thread and saw it, I thought, Woe, wait a minute, I don't recall lending my two cents to this topic. Then I saw it was someone else. You're the only other person I have come across on the web that knows about that awesome life-size prop. I use it as an avatar on just about every forum I'm a part of, which, including this one, is a total of three.
When I first set eyes on it, it just cried out, "Use me as an avatar, you know you want to!"
Anyhow, back to 13 Hrs. It doesn't do anything for me. I prefer my werewolves to look somewhat traditional ala AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF and THE HOWLING. The plot doesn't look bad, but I'm sick of seeing all my main characters in movies under the age of twenty-five.
I'm in my early forties now, and I prefer to see actual adults in films these days. Not a hard and fast rule I tend to stick to, but I try when the occasion presents itself, kinda like now.

I'm (almost) 22 and I know exactly what you mean. I don't mind seeing 25 year olds as a rule, but I always feel older actors bring a certain amount of life-expierence with them which adds to believeabillity which in genre films is important. When I make short films I try to get older actors for the very same reason.

Haha yes SWF, it's a wicked prop, I wish I owned it! And yeah, it's also my avatar on the only other forum I'm a member of. Though to avoid confusion I may change it to a different shot of the same prop. Staying off-topic for a sec, I also like your tag-line... that's From Beyond isn't it? Great film!
So yeah, 13 Hrs. I'm a bit gutted as apparently I missed a guy wearing the full werewolf suit who came out to do some publicity photos! I would have loved to see that, especially as there isn't really a single full shot of the creature in the movie. I did however see Kane' Jason Voorhees' Hodder at the bar afterwards. I was vaguely tempted to pretend I was a huge fan of DarkWolf (he was the werewolf) and that I'd never heard of Friday the 13th, but the madness passed and I let him be. Curiously enough I watched Project Metalbeast that same night, and he was the werewolf again!
Interesting you mention that about being sick of young characters. It's one of the things I find most annoying about all these remakes Hollywood is spewing out- all the characters seemingly have to be at least 10 years younger than they were in the originals (eg The Omen, My Bloody Valentine). I'd rather see someone with distinction and gravitas in the role- like for example, our old favourites Mr Lee and Mr Cushing!

Staying off-topic for a sec, I also like your tag-line... that's From Beyond isn't it? Great film! I was trying to come up with a good tag line to underscore the avatar, and FROM BEYOND just popped into my head. EXCELLENT flick, and when I first saw it on an HD TV, I thought, Oh, man, the colors! The colors! Anyone who hasn't seen FROM BEYOND on an HD TV, needs to. ASAP!

Ordered the film for my collection.
I don't mind so much about casts being under the 25 age bracket so much. As long as it's not rediculous for the film (ie, a 21 year old senior professor of archeology). besides a lot of older people in many of these situations would have had the sense not to stick around when they hear the noise or see the blood seeping under the door.
That and the chase scenes would be way too short - run, run, gasp, wheeze, collapse.

Unless it's Chuck Norris who´s being chased... "Chuck Norris does not run, instead he simply slows the earth's rotation as he walks..."

Didn't want to start a new thread so I'll put it here, just a quick heads-up that tonight is werewolf night on the horror channel!
They're showing AWIL, The Company of Wolves, Romasanta and 13hrs back to back, starts at 9pm and goes on til very late. Think I'm gonna fall asleep in front of the TV tonight....

Annoyingly they showed the actual werewolf design during one of the promo trailer for the movie on the horror channel, so despite the fact that i've not actually seen the film yet i have seen the monster.
