Brief review of this film, after watching it over the weekend.
Minor spoilers are possible.
After watching this film, I was not as disapointed as I thought I was going to be. It' not a great film, but it is watchable with a reasonable amount of gore.
The acting in the film was hit and miss. The best being that of the doctor, followed by the mother and love interest. The main werewolf hunter seemed too bland for me, with very little to get me to pay attention to him.
The look of the film reminded me of the better budget sci-fi channel films. And expectations on the quality of the effects should be aimed at that kind of TV movie.
The main lead, for me, seemed a bit weak. There was, like with the main hunter, very little to grab hold of.
The storyline worked and the theory behind the werewolf mythos made sense.
I did wish they'd left out the knife throwing werewolf hunter, as I think the story didn't need him, and he just got in the way for me, though he was one of the more interesting characters in the film.
