Good news! Scream Factory are releasing Ginger Snaps and Dog Soldiers as collectors edition Blurays in summer 2014. Hopefully they will have great transfers as well as some new extras with maybe some good retrospective docs. The director/cast commentary on the Dog Soldiers DVD is one of my fave extras ever. I just hope they go on to bring out an equally good Bluray of Ginger Snaps 2. badassdigest.com/2013/11/18/scream-factorys-delivering-ginger-snaps-and-dog-soldiers-to-blu/

That's great news! Those are two of my favorites.
If they do GS2 I hope they also do Snaps Back.

Cool, though with owning them already on DVD the blu-rays would need some really good extras to make me want to replace the ones I already have.

Scream Factory is well known for putting out feature laden Collector's Editions. I do not have either of these on DVD so I do not know what extras might be on those. But my choice come next summer is clear.

Oh that is brilliant!!!!! I love Dog Soldiers and will buy blu ray even though i own it on dvd. And Darkwolfavenged you are so right about the commentary. It is the best commentary i have ever listened to for a film. If you haven't watched the film with the commentary on please do it. I know not everyone is a fan of commentary's but this one is brilliant!!!! Cannot recommend it enough. A brilliant commentary to go with a first class film. I only wish either Spoon or the Sarg had survived as we might have had a sequel by now.....

That's great news! Those are two of my favorites. If they do GS2 I hope they also do Snaps Back. They've said the sequels are with a different company and they haven't been able to get the rights to do those.

Still patiently awaiting Dog Soldiers.... Must have it!!!!!

I like GS2 because I just love watching Emily Perkin's face go through all those changes. For me it helps sell what is going on and makes it seem realer. But I agree about The Beginning....just delicious!

Ok, plan for this weekend is to rewatch Dog Soldiers with the commentary on. I must admit I don't remember every listening to the commentary track on any film, though I do enjoy watch the extras on DVDs/Blu-rays like interviews, or making-of featurettes.
Still, will give it a go!

Did you enjoy Marcus? It is one of the best commentaries I've listened to! On a more depressing note the release date for the special edition blu ray of Dog Soldiers has been pushed back to August Ginger Snaps is still on schedule for a July release. I'm assuming these will come to the UK....... Here's a link to the cover art for the Dog Soldiers Blu Ray. I'm not massively keen i'll be honest. I prefer the original poster art. bloody-disgusting.com/news/3275170/scream-factory-reveals-dog-soldiers-blu-ray-cover-art/

That's okay. They usually have reversible covers so if you don't like the new art you can flip it and use the original.

Here's a link to the cover art for the Dog Soldiers Blu Ray. I'm not massively keen i'll be honest. I prefer the original poster art. It reminds me of the movie posters of the 1950s and 1960s where they stuffed in the faces of every important cast member and surrounded that with line drawings of evocative scenery or depictions of exciting scenes.

That cover art is horrible. Really don't like it at all. Would have been much better if it'd just been a photo-still of the house from the outside, or just a picture of a rifle with a three claw line running diagonal.
Werewolf, will you shout at me if I said I forgot all about watching it? Promise will watch it this Friday/Saturday honest!
