I don't know if any of you watch the History Channel, but they have a great series on right now called Monster Qwest which examines the possibility of "real monsters". Most of the shows I've seen have been done very well so far. Here is a breakdown of the last show which airs January 23rd at 9pm central time:
American Werewolf - Eyewitnesses in Wisconsin and Michigan report seeing a tall hairy man - beast some describe as a dogman...a centuries old legend based on myth, not a real animal. But what are they seeing? MonsterQuest will deploy professional hunters and trackers in an area with recent sightings, armed with a tranquilizer gun. And for the first time eyewitness accounts will be put to the test, using polygraphs and hypnosis&the results will astonish. Wednesday January 23rd at 10PM

Sounds very interesting. I wonder if they'll put it on English TV.

That does sound cool, which other "real monsters" are featured?

I did watch one of these. I believe it was on the Kracken, but don't quote me 100% on that. However i will definately be looking out for this one. I do hope it's better that the show that Anthony Head hosted about the paranormal. I found that werewolf episode quite boring.

I saw "The Real Frankenstein" on History Channel this morning...I liked it a lot, I don't think it's part of this series

Fingers crossed it'll end up on our side soon. Just realised that this wasn't the programme i thought i had seen. I'd actually seen Ancient Monster Hunters which is about archeologists showing us the bones of animals that were mistaken for creatures such as the Kracken and the Griffin.

The producer of the show is a local guy here in Minnesota and I heard him on a local radio talk show saying they were going to produce another 20 episodes because of the popularity of them. The werewolf show was quite fun, and if you have not caught it yet make sure you do......made me want to pack up the truck, take the dogs and go camping in Wisconsin & Michigan!
