I'm watching "An American Werewolf in London" all the way through for the first time in a long, long time. I don't think I've watched it completely since the first time I rented it when I was in elementary school. When I realized that the werewolf didn't show up until late in the movie, I pretty much ignored everything up until then, and then I was disappointed when it ended so soon afterwards.
Watching it again as a film, it's really quite good. If I'd made it, I probably would have cut some of the hospital scenes and added another werewolf killing spree, but as it stands, it's quite enjoyable. And funny.
The surprising part was near the end, when David calls home to his sister. He asks her to tell his parents that he loves them, and says he also loves her and his brother. That was really sad.
Then he tries to slit his wrists, but can't do it. Then there's a great scene in the theater where he talks with the zombies, and finally, the climax where he gets blown away.
Looking back, that sequel was silly. I guess I knew that already. By the way, was "An American Werewolf in Paris" ever actually labeled as a sequel?

In the credits for AAWIL there are both Kermit and Miss Piggy credited Also, you may find interesting is in 1997, the movie was re-recorded as a Radio drama by Audio Movies Limited for BBC Radio 1 in England. It was broadcast during Halloween that year, in short snippets throughout the day. 'Glover, Brian' , John Woodvine and Jenny Agutter reprised their roles from the movie.

I didn't know either of those facts. I'll have to watch the credits and see if i can spot Kermit and Miss Piggy's names.

Yeah, I have that on audio tape. Very good it is too. They flesh out the story a bit more to explain who the first werewolf was and some more stuff about East Proctor.

The radio play is actually worth listening to. I have it on my computer somewhere I think. As it's not widely available I guess I could try and upload it somewhere, depending on how big it is.

Awesome!!! I'm DLing the last one now. I've been listening to the first and second ones. Really cool! I don't know how they would be if you'd never seen the movie, but having watched AWIL somewhere near 20 times, they're really fun to listen to. Thanks for linking!
