I liked Doctor Who's CGI werewolf the best of any I've seen so far.

My fave transformation by far is An American Werewolf in London. Rick Baker is god. www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKgjUop81TgSecond fave would have to be The Howling. Baker worked on it to start with before leaving to do American Werewolf. His assistant, Rob Bottin, took over using the same basic techniques Baker developed. www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdnE3_XBZTAThird favourite would probably be the Company of Wolves one where the guy pulls the flesh from his bones and then his bones reshape in to a wolf. The actual puppets are quite basic, but it is a neat and gruesome idea. I've just seen this one below from the movie Romasanta. It's a reverse one (wolf to man) and is pretty damn sweet. www.youtube.com/watch?v=czEKLSsPusc

I liked Doctor Who's CGI werewolf the best of any I've seen so far. Yeah. I think i prefered that CGI werewolf to the Van Helsing one.

In my opinion the best part of a transformation scene is the part where the face elongates/snout pushes out.
Favourite NOT best:
1. Eddie's transformation in 'The Howling'.
2. The lap dissolve transformation in 'The Wolf Man' (1941) where you see his legs/feet transform.
3. Joanie's transformation in 'Cursed' (even though it looks like a cartoon). I like the fact it is all in one shot (albeit a tracking shot). Also like the way you can hear her distorted voice whilst changing and I like the snout pushout at the end. At 45 seconds it is the longest CGI transformation that I am aware of. I like the way at the end, after looking at her reflection in the mirror, she smashes it.
I actually think CGI has great potential for a transformation scene but I have never seen it used very well.

How about the reverse transformation in Fright Night? You know the first one.

Be warned, Dark Wolf does come with some side effects. It has been know to lead to long term blindness, internal bleeding, migraines, and sever rashes. If you have experienced any of these symptoms after watching this film please contact your local doctor as soon as possible.

That bad, eh? As much as I am a connoisseur of bad films I think I will give that one a miss until I get really desperate.

I cant say the film was a total loss for me, I showed some friends of mine and got plenty of laughs out of it. I even laughed out loud the first time I watched it by myself and that takes a lot to do.

Some films you just have to watch with a bunch of mates, I can think of plenty of films that I wouldn't want to be watching on my own.
