I like the move back towards physical effects that seems to be going on at the moment. I guess directors just need to browse the internet for five minutes to learn that most horror fans as a general rule do not like unnecessary CGI. All of the above designs seem to demonstrate a movement back in this direction. Having said that, this Saturdays Doctor Who looks set to have a pretty nifty computer-generated werewolf: werewolfmovies.proboards105.com/index.cgi?board=tv&action=display&thread=1144947245This is a great thread, by the way.

Liked the Underworld one... not sure on the Big Bad Wolf as it looks a bit to plasticky to me (especially his feet and hands) and the wild country one is ok but looks a bit like a wild boar tbh..... reading this you'd think im a complete picky person but as soon as i can buy them will have them

As for the Big Bad Wolf, I think his suit looks too bulky, like the wolf in Silver Bullet, except now he's wearing clothes like the Wolf-Man and he's got Johnny Depp's hair. I'm sure they're gonna have to use some CGI because you can see the outline where his eyes and the suit meet. I think the filmmakers are trying too much to out-do AAWIL and The Howling by trying to do stuff that's never been done before, only they're going about it in a way that's could make the film into a joke and alienating genre fans. But that being said, the atmosphere looks great and I bet anything that the story will be pretty simple, which could benefit the film and keep it from going into overkill.
And like I said before, the Wild Country wolf DOES look like a wild boar, but we haven't seen the body yet and the creature does look quite threating. I just have a feeling this is going to be one of my favorite werewolf movies when it's comes out, so hopefully I won't be disappointed.

Amen. I tried to watch "An American Werewolf in Paris" the other day and I can never get through it all the way. I've seen the film in it's entirety before, but on repeated viewings, it's just too ridiculous. Their CGI "wolves" looks like monkey gargoyles with paws that anchor. How does one go from this.... To This...?? Sad, sad, sad.

I agree with AAWIP...hard to accept the CGI werewolves....I liked William in Underworld Evolution...and still don't really care for the other werewolves in both movies. Big Bad Wolf doesn't look too bad but some shots I really don't care for. I don't like his chest...I dunno why but I don't

Williams the elder is my favourite, his design seems very similar to those in Dog Soldiers and so far they have been one of my favourite designs.
I've not seen either the Big Bad Wolf or Wild Country yet, i'll have to look out for both on DVD. I do have to say that the Big Bad Wolf's face is too flat for my liking. The one in Wild Country reminds me of the one in AAWIL, but i'll reserve proper judgement until i see the movie fully.
The werewolves in AAWIP were awful and given that the budget would have been higher than the budget for Dr Who it is slightly disappointing that a tv show werewolf is more believable.
I was disappointed by the other werewolves in Underworld and the sequel, i'm not sure i'm ever gonna see the perfect werewolf, i have an image in my mind but i couldn't discribe it to you!

Big Bad Wolf looks a hell of a lot like the vampire beast thing in "Bram Stoker's Dracula".
What on earth happened to those cool make-up we had in "The Wolf-Man"? "Curse of the Werewolf"? "Wolf"? or any of the Naschy flicks? I mean check out "La Marca del Hombre-Lobo", the energy and sheer atmosphere make that one a better werewolf than the stiff latex crap we have to put up with nowadays!

But you also gotta remember that dr who is ten years newer. and now its much cheaper to make a good looking cgi creature. the energy and sheer atmosphere make that one a better werewolf than the stiff latex crap we have to put up with nowadays! hey dont complain about ok latex wolves when ther is sucky 3d ones to bash I really like the william werewolf, and seeing these pictures even made me interested in the movie i really didnt like the first one. big bad wolf looks just like its name. bag and really bad b:P but i think it will be an exciting movie anyways. the last one looks great but not really wolfish.
