A brand new take on the werewolf mythos, following the brutal life of a mob hitman who is much more than human. He can be or look like almost any beast or man, and never be stopped. At least, that is, until a rival boss calls in something even worse than he is....www.imdb.com/title/tt1046245/This one features Amber Benson of "Buffy", as well as Samantha Mumba. Interesting ...

Any idea if this is going to be a low budget or a high budget film?

I'm guessing it'll probably be a sort of mid-range budget movie. It's from a brand new production company who are also currently working on movies starring Michael Madsen, Vinnie Jones and Tara Reid, so there's definitely some money there ...

Well, that hopefully will mean the effects will be decent. Just got to hope the acting, and style of the movie will be right

Ah, according to IMDb their other movies have budgets of around $4 million or so. Not a massive budget, but enough to make a good werewolf movie (e.g. Ginger Snaps, Dog Soldiers ...)

I wonder what could be worse than a guy who can turn into any beast or man?

I wonder what could be worse than a guy who can turn into any beast or man? Jim Carrey on acid.

A revival of the manimal series with Jim Carrey playing the lead partnered with David Hasselhoff playing a supersoldier that needs to be kept cool to function. I think that'd be worse.

This is actually "based" on a forthcoming comic book mini series that is part of Fangoria's new comic line. My understanding is that all of the mini series Fangoria develops are with an eye towards film production, and they are all listed as "starring" certain actors, with the characters within drawn in their likeness. There is a special #1/2 issue of Shifter coming out in November, then the 4 issues run something like December to March.
