Anyone else catch The Office last week? It was an episode directed by Joss Whedon, in which a bat gets into the office and Jim tries to convince Dwight that he's becoming a vampire. I mention it cos Dwight mentioned werewolves. It went something like; "I've never hunted vampires. I have hunted werewolves. I shot one once but by the time I got to it, it had metamorphosed back into my neighbours dog." Aaah, Dwight. Doesn't even know what a werewolf is.

So...what would you call a dog that's bitten by a werewolf (ala Cursed)?

Well I'm no linguist, but I'm thinking either Cynanthrope or Hundwolf. Apparently the word "dog" derived from Old English "Docga" which until a few hundred years ago referred only to a specific breed of dog, so the German "Hund" is more appropriate. Plus it sounds better than Docgawolf.

No wait, Cynanthrope would refer to a person who changes into a dog. D'oh. I have no idea have to combine the greek words right for dog/wolf. Lycancynisis. Cynlyky. Wow, that one has no vowels ... I'm going to stick with Hundwolf.

Cynanthrope...sweet, now I can use that with my weredog character.
Was this the British version of "The Office," or the American version? Do they even show the American version over there? I've never watched either, but I've thought about renting the DVD of the first season of the British version. Everyone tells me that they hear that the American version is better, but they're just stupid Americans, so what do they know?

This was the American version. Both versions are very good in different ways ... overall, the British version has to be said to better although I can see why Americans might not appreciate it. Making an American-Style sitcom was exactly what the British creators did NOT want to do. I'd recommend watching the original British version first.
