Got my copy of American Dad: Volume Two yesterday and completely loved this episode ;D
I'm quite a fan of Amercan Dad and was thrilled they did a werewolf inspired episode. Basically Steve and his friends go and see a werewolf film called The Soiling (you get clean pants with every ticket!) where a man transforms into a red eyed werewolf in the middle of the woods. On the way home after the movie Steve is jumped on by a huge wolf and he and his friends are convinced that he will transform. In the meantime Roger finds the wolf and takes it home as a pet. So the next full moon Steve's friends tie him up and leave him till morning. Unknown to them his Mum unties him and Roger's pet wolf escapes through Steve's window, kills a neighbours pet and then comes back in through Steve's window and shakes blood all over. In the morning Steve wakes up and finds himself untied and covered in blood. Believing that he has transformed and killed someone he asks his friends to shoot him with a silver bullet, they miss but do graze him and then assume he has been cured. An excellent episode, although it doesn't explain where he and his mates got the bullet from???
I think i'll be sad and listen to the commentary.

Well i listened to the commentary hoping there would be some indication of why they chose to make a werewolf themed episode but nope, nothing!

I've never heard of American Dad. But it sounds rather interesting.

Well i listened to the commentary hoping there would be some indication of why they chose to make a werewolf themed episode but nope, nothing! It's probably because Seth MacFarlane seems to love 80s movies, he's constantly referencing them. So that likely makes him a fan of "American Werewolf" and "Teen Wolf" and such.

Problem is that unlike Family Guy Commenatries, Seth MacFarlene does not do all the American Dad commentaries which is a shame cos he's ace and he would probably have shed more light on the choice! I can't believe how close he was to boarding one of the planes that crashed into the World Trade Centre. It would have been a great loss to comedy.

I've never heard of American Dad. But it sounds rather interesting. Amercian Dad is an animated cartoon series dreamed up by Seth MacFarlane who created Family Guy. They began working on it just after Family Guy was canceled and it's another family based show. It revoles round Stan who works for the CIA, his liberal daughter Hayley, his geek son Steve, his wife Francine, their german goldfish Klaus and their wise cracking heavy drinking alien Roger. I like it, although some of the cracks at American politians are hard to follow as i don't really know any other than Bush and Gore but most of it is general comedy! I think the DVD of season 1 is now in the sale section of most stores so it might be worth checking out to see how much it is.

I never liked family guy, much prefered simpsons or futurama - actually I much prefer the old 80s cartoons like Pirates of Darkwater, or Dungeons and Dragons, or Spiderman.
I'm getting a little tired of the style that modern cartoons seem to be drawn in. I much prefered them to have a more realistic look.

Ive seen one episode of duckman. It was pretty fun. Also, i prefer family guy over american dad. American dad is reusing so many jokes rom family guy it seems more like a rip-off than a followup. And my favourite cartoons are all from the 80s or first half of the 90s. Fist of the north star Sonic the hedgehog (SatAM) Chip 'n Dales rescue ranger etc etc That was good times

Well, if we're including anime, than I'd like to add to my list.
Fist of the north star, Vampire Hunter D & sequal, Akira, Guyver (the series not the films).

I think neither of the guyver series or OVA's or live action movies have been able to catch the flavour of the original comicbook.

I've only ever seen one Guyver film and i believe it had Mark Hamil in it! Never read the comics or seen the cartoons. I have seen Vampire Hunter D and a rather disturbing one that featured monsters raping girls, i can't remember what it was called but i think there was three of them in all in the series. Might have begun with a T???
