"THE 50 WORST MOVIES EVER MADE"

by request I will reveal (gosh, sounds official doesn't it) the flick that came first (and while I'm at it mention the first 12 - 2)

The programme itself is an hour long compilation of 50 movies (mostly trailers, but that doesn't make it less appealing). Yes, I hear you think, 50 films in 60 minutes !
The first 10 are really rushed, which is a great pity. They never get into any real detail untill nr. 4 on the list, still i found the pace between 39 and 4 acceptable.

NR 12: "The Crippled Masters" (1982)

NR 11: "The Sorceress" (1983)

NR 10: "The Crawling Hand" (1963)

NR 9: "Bloodsucking Freaks" (1976)

NR 8: "JD's Revenge" (1976)

NR 7: "Frankenstein meets the Space Monster" (1965)

NR 6: "Killer Shrews" (1959)

NR 5: "Great White" (1980)

NR 4: "Plan 9 from Outer Space" (1959)

NR 3: "The Thing with Two Heads" (1972)

NR 2: "Eegah!" (1962)

NR 1: "The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies!" (1967)

AND!

at NR 30 "Dracula vs Frankenstein" (1971, Al Adamson version) which I have to mention, it being one of my favorite movies.

Not all movies on the list are that bad. Some I would really like to see ,notably "Galaxy of Terror" (was "Bride of the Monster" really that bad? Quite a good effort in my humble opinion).

The appreciation of these films and there place on the list doesn't seem to be based on anything...in fact, they say NR 38 "Black Belt Jones" is the best movie on the list. When then is it on NR 38?

The only extra is a list which explains (or is supposed to) "what it takes for a bad movie to make it into the 50 Worst Movies Ever Made".



Hmmm...you be the judge of things.

They could have easily made it half an hour longer, but for what it's worth (about 3 bucks actually) I had fun.

Was "Manos: The Hands of Fate" on the list? It was so bad, the evil scientists on MST3K apologized to Joel and the robots for making them watch it.

Really surprised Plan 9 from Outer Space wasn't at number 1. I think it was voted the worst movie ever made by some magazine readers a few years back.

Never seen or even heard of Manos.

No werewolf films made the list then? Not even Dark Wolf?

Sure people can vote it to a spot like that. But thats only because that movie is very well known. This list doesnt seem to care if people have actually heard of the movies or not.

I find that on most of these kinds of lists, the truely truely truely awful films are never listed, cause just about no one has ever heard of them - cause they were that bad!!

And, where such lists are complied by people's votes, it's even less accurate.

But it can still be fun to watch, and shout at the TV when you think they've got it wrong

Possibly! Although it might be difficult over the sound of sirens always heading in Barnsley direction!

Is this a common theme in the UK? I was over in London a few years back, and I counted fourteen police sirens in one day. I hear maybe three a month where I am.

Let me guess...a lot of cops need to make right turns across traffic all the time.

Nah, they're just late for getting home to watch groundforce so they switch on the sirens.

Either that or a kid has nicked the car and is playing with the buttons.

I've always wanted to live in the village/estate woolley edge, which is part of Barnsely - mainly because it was named after wolves that used to live around there (originally it was Wolvesley Edge).

We used to have a cool dog that lived on my street that looked like a huge black wolf - to the point where some of my friends would refuse to get out of the car when they saw it. It used to sleep on the pavement across from my house.
