Watched the Last Legion yesterday, and found it to be an ok film.
It started very well, but as the film progressed it just didn't quite hit the mark. That and it's historical inaccurances didn't help it.
It's the kind of film where you stick your brain on a nearby shelf and just enjoy it for what it is. Without trying to analys it or count how many errors they make in it.
SYNOPSIS
The film deals with Romulus Augustus, last emporer of rome. Still as a boy, rome is sacked by the Goth nations, and the boy emporer has to flee for his life.
With only a handful of guards and friends, he makes his way to Britannia in search of the Sword of Ceasar, hidden years ago by the Emporer Tiberius. A sword many have searched for, including the evil King Vortigan of Britannia. A sword that prophesy says will only be used in the hand of the rightful ruler.
This film deals with the pre-birth of the authorian legend based on the premise that Arther's line were of roman origins.

I couldn't stand this film at all. Mostly because I love proper historical films, and in the post-"Gladiator", post-"Rome" age I really don't see the need for this kind of trash. I've got no problem with films that know what they are ... I loved "A Knight's Tale", for instance. But even as a fantasy film this was pretty awful, and the fact that it masqueraded as having historical inspirations just made it unbearable. To some degree I felt the same way about Clive Owen's "King Arthur", but compared to "The Last Legion" that was actually a good movie. Okay, rant over now!
