A danish newspaper recently named the italian horror movie "Rats" (1984) the worst movie in the world ever. So i gotta see it! has any of you seen it, maybe reviewed it or know where to buy it? www.imdb.com/title/tt0086176/

I have seen a really low budget horror movie named Rats. I saw it on sky but i don't recall it being Danish. The film ended with the rats being drawn to a swimming pool so might not be the same film.

I've seen a couple of films long time ago, that was called "Rats". Pretty sure one was based on a book by one of the well known horror authors - though I don't rememebr the name.
I remember two films (original and sequal) that had rats coming up form the sewers and attacking people in a block of flats/small town. - rather fuzzy on the details.
I also remember one film where it was just one rat that a husband was trying to get rid of whilst his wife was away. He tried poison, and traps, and all kinds of stuff until finally he runs through the house with a baseball bat that he's stuck the jaws of various traps to, trying to beat the rat to death, wrecking the house in the process. I've always wanted to watch that film again.
Though the film this thread about doesn't look like one I've seen before.

"Of Unknown Origin" with Peter Weller (and introducing Shannon Tweed). Great, great movie. I love it. Well worth getting the DVD.

Oh man, I've got Rats, the Italian one, haven't got round to watching it yet, it's sitting with the other VIPCOs for when I've got nothing good to watch.
As for the well-known horror author, that'd be James Herbert, occasionally referred to as the British Stephen King, who wrote a book called Rats and a coupla sequels. Didn't realise there had been a movie version tho....

As far as i know there isn't a movie version of James Herbert's the Rats. I'm a big fan of the novels so would definately have looked out for that! In fact when i saw the one on Sky i got really excited and thought it was a movie based on the book. Boy was i disapointed!

I just watched Rats. It is indeed pretty dreadful, but not what I'd call the worst movie ever (still Troll 2).
