Has anyone else seen this one? I enjoyed it over and above the fact I'm a sucker for Crispin Glover in anything.
Basically, the plot concerns Ed, a jaded young man obsessed with 40's and 50's noir chic who runs and underground newspaper. Bored with a freaky costume party, he and his girlfriend attend a disturbing magic show starring Montag, who disembowels a girl on stage. It's all an act . . . or is it? The next day the girl is dead from injuries suspiciously resembling the fake ones inflicted onstage. As the bodies pile up, Ed becomes obsessed with Montag's act, which seems to involve him dosing the audience with a mind-control drug, and as he investigates he begins to suffer bizarre symptoms that hint he's more closely involved with the murders than he suspects.
It's satisfactorily gory and weird with a clever mindfuck style plot, and the filmmakers are clearly using every penny of their small budget to make it look good onscreen.

Awhile back the local pawn shop had several original H.G. Lewis films on DVD but I didn't have the money for all of them so I just picked up "The Gore Gore Girls." When I went back, "Wizard of Gore" and the others were gone.
I was equally torqued and surprised anyone else in this little dump of a town was interested in them.

Oooo, lucky. That hasn't been released here in the US yet. Even if it sucks ass (which I've heard it has), I want to see it.

It certainly wasn't the best film i've ever seen but it wasn't the worst either.

Wow. Now i've not seen "Like Mike" but i'm guessing it would make "Simon Says" seem like an oscar winner.

Hah, it's HORRIBLE. I feel bad for Crispin being in drek like that, but he's said he only did several roles like that so he could get the cash to make his own movies. I can respect that.

I feel bad for Crispin being completely and utterly insane.

He's kind of a wannabe Howard Stern/morning show host. When his show was still broadcast in my area, they played a clip of Crispin Glover promoting the show, and he sounded kind of creepy, and then Mancow said he was nuts. I think I heard elsewhere that he was rather eccentric.

He did the creepest Willy Wonka in Epic Movie. Plus i didn't realise that he'd played Marty McFlys father in the first Back to the Future Movie. I have to say though i would really like to see Willard as i love rats!
