Right now, this is mostly a vampire show that recently started on HBO. However, it is based on a series of novels that eventually include werewolves (and other wereanimals). At Comic Con this year, the show-runner, Alan Ball, explicitly said that the show will feature werewolves and other creatures, just not in the first season. Has anyone read these Southern Vampire/Sookie Stackhouse books before? Of what type are the werebeasts depicted in it (full animal, half-man, etc.)? And how many books does it take to get to them (apparently the entire first season of the show encompasses only the first book)?

I haven't read the books but I'm loving the show. It's great fun and Anna Paquin looks mighty cute in those tight tshirts and short shorts. I reckon her boss Sam who owns the bar is gonna be a Were. He barks in his sleep

This seems like the sort of show that I'll watch when the season's over and it's available on demand.
Of course, every show seems like that sort of show to me...

I'm sure i've seen it advertised on one of the Sky channels. I'll have to check my listings now.
