Hello Everyone. I'm new and I joined this site obviously due to my love of lycanthropes. Unfortunately I have seen pitifully few werewolf movies and found this site looking for good movies to watch featuring them. I tend to prefer movies that are more fantasy than horror, that give some background to the werewolves history. I have seen Blood and Chocolate and enjoyed it, despite the wooden lead-lady, and loved the 'yellow eyes when in pain' thing and the organised culture. I'm a little sick of vampires being portrayed as beautiful and elegant and werewolves just being mindless meat bags. Having said that, I'm looking forward to seeing dog soldiers and the lycans actually look kind of how I think they should. If anyone has any recommendations for me that would be great. I also write about anthropomorphs, werewolves and other fantasy in my spare time Umbra Lupa

Hi Umbra,
hmm more fantasy than horror . . . well, you could try:
Company of Wolves Brothers Grimm Ginger Snaps trilogy
Cannot think of any others off the top of my head, but there are others. I'd suggest you read through the Movie List on here.
Ones I'd recommend regardless, as I think they are must see for any werewolf movie fan are:
The Wolfman American Werewolf in London Howling

Howling III has more fantasy than horror to it (werewolves are not scary in that film), and Underworld qualifies, since the vampires and werewolves are really just people with extraordinary abilities.

Thank you. Already own Underworld and enjoyed Company of Wolves. Caught the last bit of The Howling a couple of nights ago. The werewolf tranformation was interesting. I've seen the first Ginger Snaps and am interested in looking into the others. Thanks for your recommendations.

Can anyone recommend a good werewolf movie that I can watch on youtube? Lately I've seen all three Gingersnaps, American Werewolf in London, American Werewolf in Paris, Cursed, Silver Bullet, Dog Soldiers, and a couple others that I can't think of off-hand. I'm also kind of picky. Could someone help me?

Cannot help you Trampstar, I've not gone looking for werewolf films on youtube. I mainly use youtube for silly songs and clips from Top Gear
