I have been following this movie for some time now and am extremely disappointed in its progress to ever see its way on to dvd (or in theaters). This movie screened at a film festival a few years back and was supposed to hit the big screen shortly after. However for some stupid reason Warner Brothers has decided to stick it on the shelf and has been siting there for about three years. Every review I have read from people who have seen the film gave it great reviews and the trailer alone is awesome. Here is the link to the trailer www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggDNhd5FC2U, if anyone hears or knows something about this movie speak up or by the power invested in me I will, ha just kidding.

I've also been waiting not very patiently for this movie- you'll be pleased to know it's finally being released on dvd on october the 26th. I know, Warner Brothers are morons for not releasing it in the cinema, where a halloween themed horror movie with a superb word-of-mouth reputation would surely make them loads of money, but at least we get to see it!
It's up on amazon uk at the moment but you can't pre-order it just yet. I'll let you know when you can...

I cannot believe that Warner Brothers don't want to send this film to the theatres. It's almost as if they are deliberately making it a flop for the point of view of income. I agree that the trailers for the film, and the reviews were all extremely possitive. Guess the delays and the low key release is more to do with internal politics at Warner Brothers than a judge on the film itself. Still at least it is FINALLY coming out, and I'll preorder it as soon as amazon or play.com lets me

I heard about this on the Halloween forums I go to, and heard it was really good. Definately a must-see this year.

It's showing at Frighfest on the saturday (29th August)- as usual you can buy £10 tickets to see individual films so I'll be going along that night just to see this movie.

Ok, I have now seen Trick 'r Treat and am pleased to say that it's absolutely awesome! I really loved it.Such a shame that it's not getting a proper cinema release as it looked so great on the biggest cinema screen in London! And it got a huge applause at the end.
Don't want to give anything away but I'm sure most people know that there's a brief werewolf scene- it's the highlight of the movie and got a spontaneous applause from the Frighfest audience!
The director was there for a Q and A and seemed really nice. The best question was from John Landis, shouting from somewhere in the audience:
LANDIS: Why did Warner Brothers sit on this film for so long? DOUGHERTY: I honestly don't know. They told us we'd get a cinema release in October 2007 and it never happened, we kept asking them when they'd release it and they never gave us a straight answer. LANDIS: Fuck them!
