LANDIS: Why did Warner Brothers sit on this film for so long? DOUGHERTY: I honestly don't know. They told us we'd get a cinema release in October 2007 and it never happened, we kept asking them when they'd release it and they never gave us a straight answer. LANDIS: Fuck them! LOL - way to go John Landis ;D

John Landis, pretty much summed up what we'd all like to say to the film company for delaying this film such a stupid amount of time.

Anyone know what sort of reviews it got at FrightFest?

From what I've heard, everyone that's seen it says it's a very good film.

That's funny. The Halloween message boards said it would be released the 6th of October, not the 26th! I'm definately gonna keep my eyes peeled for it. I hope it comes out at walmart because that's...pretty much the only place locally to buy good movies where I live without having to make an hour and a half drive to the city.

Mau, Trick r Treat comes out on DVD on the 6th in America, and the 26th over here in the UK. By the way, I think you'll really love it... that movie IS halloween.

Oh! Well that explains it then since I'm in the United States. I'm really looking forward to seeing this, I love Halloween and I know this is a must-see this year. They talk about it a lot at the Halloween forums I go to as well. And that little Sam is so cute. I don't know why but I love cute little demented things!

I can't wait to see it, it may become my second favourite halloween movie, after The Nightmare Before Christmas which i know is technically a christmas film but i prefer to watch it at halloween. All those fairy lights and candy canes just can't disguise the darkness.

Yeah, nightmare before christmas is a good film. I saw something about Tim burton doing a new puppet film, don't remember what it's about though - I think it's called "9" but that could be a different one, I'm not sure.

There is a new film coming out called 9 but not sure if it's a Tim Burton as he's currently working on Alice in Wonderland.

Looks interesting, maybe I'll check it out. Is it odd that I keep watching horror movies even though the B-horror's scare the crap out of me?

No. Your just addicted to your bodies reaction to fear.

I don't know why but I love cute little demented things! Then you'll love me. I watched Trick 'r Treat the other night. It's a fun little flick with a great cast including Dylan Baker, Anna Paquin and Brian Cox. It is also handsomely made with creative art direction and lovely photography. I have to say I didn't find it in the least bit scary but the interweaving stories that all take place around the same small town having its Halloween fayre are entertaining with a few nice little twists. What the film does really well, though, is capture the gleeful ghoulish spirit of Halloween. I especially enjoyed the werewolf stuff (natch) as it is the best of the interconnected stories. For me Trick 'r Treat is no rival to John Carpenter's Halloween as the ultimate film for that night, but it is still a great deal of fun. And that's all I really wanted from it.
