Friday the 13th of February 2029 will be the beginning of Lunation 1313, as astronomers label these things. A Lunation is a lunar cycle beginning with the New Moon. On that day a 320 meter wide asteroid, named 2004 MN4, will pass within 18000 miles of Earth according to current estimates. That is closer than geosynchronous satellites like the kind you get satellite radio from, and much closer than the Moon. It is large enough to be visible with the naked eye as a spot of light even from within cities. The uncertainty factor in the asteroids path is a few thousand miles. However I doubt that the trajectory calculations took the several thirteens into account. The Full Moon of that Lunation will take place on Feb 28 2029. Will the 4 sevens of 28 help to counteract whatever bad luck those thirteens entail?
