Hello to everyone at Werewolf-Movies.com
I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself, and give you a bit of background into what I do.
First, I am no stranger to Werewolf-Movies.com - Noel and I had spoke (via e-mail) a few years ago in regards to a screenplay I had written called "The Writing on the Moon".
I wrote the story back in 1997, and penned the first draft of the screenplay in 2006. Upon completion of the second daft, I sent a copy to Noel, who gave me a lot of constructive feedback and needed guidance.
I am an actor, writer and film producer. Although I don't do a lot of writing (mostly screenplays), I have always had an acute fascination with werewolves, and felt compelled to make this story / film happen.
I am now a quarter of the way through the third draft.
Production meetings were held, and we were planning on beginning work on "The Writing on the Moon" back in the winter of 2007-2008, but budget issues forced us to place it on hiatus.
Several new producers / crew members have come aboard and breathed new life into the project. The thought (at this point) is to shoot a shortened version of the film (better known as a Spec-film) and shop it around to potential investors. Since the story takes place during a winter storm, we are finally on track to roll cameras this coming January / February.
Here is the general synopsis:
Dee is on her way back home.
Deep within the north-woods of of Wisconsin, a family grieves over the loss of their beloved wife and mother. While the father tries to cope and go about his normal life, his son and daughter set out on a hunting trip, to heal wounds and remember their late mother. Less then ten miles away, a foiled bank robbery sends two fugitives on the run from authorities, directly into the surrounding forest seeking refuge and escape.
Two buddies from out of state, set out on a weekend hunting (and drinking) trip that brings them to the very same neck of the massive forest.
As a weatherman forecasts a probable (white-out) blizzard, an eccentric Native American tries to forewarn the local law enforcement about an unnatural moon cycle that is sure to resurrect an unearthly evil. His premonitions fall on deaf ears, as a stubborn sheriff and a young deputy dismiss them as the ranting of a fool.
An eavesdropping restaurant owner and a small town lynch-mob can only watch as nature ventures horrifically close to civilization.
Several seemingly unrelated lives are thrust together through a terrifying chain of events.
There are some things that man refuses to speak of. There's something primal that waits just beyond the tree-line. Something that has laid dormant beneath our own skin for too long. It is best seen when the sun goes down and blackness fills the cracks of man's deepest void. An absence of light, body and soul. To leave one's inhibitions behind and return to all fours.
When the only sound you hear is the howling of God's other creatures. The forgotten ones... It's written on the moon.
