"shot in the dark" - trying to remember a movie

I'm trying to find a very old warewolf movie.

I'm guessing this movie goes back to the 80's or later (70's?)
I found this website trying to google a description of the movie.

From what I remember, there is a family of warewolves in a jungle (who seem like regular jungle natives).
Some guys (from U.S.?) show up to research and study the tribe (I don't know if they know they are warewolves or not).
I remember there are a few young ones and a couple old ones and a couple children. Something bad happens (can't remember what) and there is a struggle of some sort.

Some of the key things I have a vivid memory of are;

1. A scene where an old guy is calling out, 'Jabboa" (jab-oh-ah).
2. I remember a few small scenes where warewolves are running at full sprint through the jungle.
3. I remember near the end of the movie, a University/College professor is giving a lecture (about the tribe or about tribes in the jungle). And after the lecture, a young man comes up to the aged professor and after a few short words, the young man confesses he is the child from the tribe which the old man studied.

Odd movie. The commentary on the DVD is pretty interesting (at least if you like such things and I do).

It's....different, that's for sure. It's not a horror movie at all. It's almost more a documentary.

I just read my review of this movie. Can't remember any of it, not one thing. Perhaps I banished it from my memory for good reason!
