i am pretty sure back in the late 80's there was a series about a werewolf, the setting was similar to the hulk with him wandering about and helping people ,anyone else remember this?

Yup there was. There should be a pretty big thread on the subject of this tv show somewhere on here already if you fancy having a look. I'm sure someone with more searching skills than me will post you the link for it.

Dude, that transformation looks awesome! I personally prefer my werewolves to be more like Wolf-men, but this looks like something I would certainly enjoy.

Now if you have to go with a quadraped this one was a much better design than the one from AAWIL.

I never really watched horror television. I think something Hammer'ish (like the shows they did in the 80s) wouldn't look out of place today when properly developed.

Looks kind of cool. I looked through the website and it wasn't bad at all.

Was a pretty good series. One of those road series, where the star goes from town to town looking for the original werewolf to end the curse.

Pictures of the werewolf suits are almost impossible to find, and while there are clips of them on youtube the quality is generally so bad you can barely tell what the hell is going on. I found a pretty good collection of stills however. 2.bp.blogspot.com/_rzdB5a4kLAo/Rx-15LKstRI/AAAAAAAAEFA/f6wbj56Y8o8/s1600-h/WEREWOLF3.jpgSo, it seems that the werewolves could stand up on their hind legs as well as move on all fours. That's pretty cool. The design also has a distinctive primate body shape that distinguishes it from normal wolves. It's a pretty solid suit and design for an 80's television show. Only one other television show has come close to doing something that ambitious, and that's Being Human.
