From wikipedia-The film ends with the possibility of a sequel. Though there has been no confirmation from the studio or cast about an official sequel. Though there has been desires by Joe Johnston, Benicio del Toro and Hugo Weaving of returning to make a sequel. Director Joe Johnston stated if he was to return, he would possibly resurrect Lawrence Talbot. Hugo Weaving and many other fans concluded that if a sequel to be made, it would have to be centered around Weaving's character, Aberline.

Ha here is another example of "cant do worse," though I like Wolf Man in some ways, a sequal will at least par with the first.

Yeah i wondered if they would when they let Aberline get bitten. I'd be interested in seeing what they make of this.

Ahh a remake for Frankenstein vs. The Wolf Man would be excellent.

No more remakes no no no, thats such a terrible thing. Espacially not a great classic like that anyways.

It's not going to happen ofcourse, but I think "Franky vs. Wolf" is a good example of a film which wouldn't be hurt by a remake. Obviously the remake wouldn't have the same je-ne-sais-quoi (*) as the original. I do feel that some films, like the origional WolfMan, that were made in such a different 'zeitgeist'(**) are not that affected by remakes. Like 'Nosferatu'...the silent version is still the definitive one, but the Herzog remake starring Klaus Kinski is an admirable alternate version. I'm cool with remakes when they offer the right balance of more-of-the-same and variation-on-a-theme. Mind you, I fully agree that most established film classics don't need remakes. I wouldn't pay money to see "Casablance 2.0" or "Star Wars Reloaded". Feel free to disagree with me ;D Madre Mia! (***) Check out my rant!!! (*) Tish, that's French! (**) German (***) Spanish

Sorry but there's no chance of a sequel to The Wolfman as quite simply it bombed massively at the box office both in the US and overseas. The film's total wordwide gross was 'only' $139,789,765 of which the studio gets roughly 50% back after the cinemas and distributors take their cut. This is against an insanely massive production budget of $150 million plus an additional $50m to $100m in global marketing and distribution costs. After dvd/bluray/TV sales the film might eventually break even. But someone at Universal was almost certainly fired over this one as it lost them lots and lots of money. A shame as I quite liked it.

I do feel that some movies could be remade and done justice, but most of the ones i have in mind dont have a big enough following to justify a remake.

They may try for a lower budget sequal, so the combined income from both films would offset the high cost of the 1st and the lower cost of the 2nd.
