Curse of the Werewolf was, as far I can remember, the first werewolf movie I ever saw and I have loved it ever since, can't wait to get it on DVD Hammer + Werewolves = Awesome... Also hoping they change their minds and bring out the old Werewolf series on DVD, at least the movie. I think there were issues with certain copy-writes of music and such. If they can resolve that, I'll be rushing to the stores for it... ah, memory lane

I'm still glad I got the boxset. Most of the films in it are pretty cool. I'm telling you guys...'Night Creatures'! Best Peter Cushing film I saw in a LONG time!

Such a great movie. I love it. I watched it again a couple of nights ago.

I should mention that Shout! Factory's Curse of the Werewolf Blu-ray should be officially out today (April 21st, 2020).
As is my habit, I had this one pre-ordered so I actually received it last week. Quite nice, with some nice special features I haven't fully delved into.

Quite nice, with some nice special features I haven't fully delved into. Hammer's only werewolf film, CotW is often criticized for being too slow. Personally I like it the way it is. The slow build makes the story more complex and interesting and the character more sympathetic. I also like that it is not the usual 'bitten' story but the 'born on Christmas Day' variant with him already being 'cursed' by his rapist father being almost an animal from his long and cruel imprisonment. IMO it is the implicit 'flavorings' like that found in the early Hammer films that help make them so 'tasty'.
