I was doing a bit of reminiscing today, and it brought to mind a legend I heared when I was LARPING one weekend over in Edale many years ago. Werewolf of Edale in 1925 In 1925 the Village of Edale, Derbyshire - England, was being terrorised by something "black in colour and enormous of size, who's howl sounded like a fog horn".
During the hours of darkness this beast, which the locals firmly believed was a werewolf, would slaughter sheep "leaving the carcasses strewn about, with legs, shoulders, and heads torn off, broken backs, and pieces of flesh ripped off."
Many hunting parties went out, but one were able to track or trap the animal. People were so afraid that they would lock themselves in their homes at night, and would not let their children play outside.
As mysteriously as it appeared, it just as mysteriously vanished
This has prompted me to ask the following:
What werewolf legends are in your neck of the woods that you've heard about?

Sadly, none that I'm aware of. That Edale one is great, though. Sounds like the inspiration for East Proctor, complete with real slaughtered lambs.

No Kansas City werewolves, as far as I know. I did see a guy in Wichita, Kansas, who had pointed ears and a patch beard. He might've been a werewolf. I wanted to follow him and see if he ever changed, but my hands were tied, what with me being in junior high and on a youth group trip.
