I'm confused on this one. There are a number of places/news items I see that tout this is a vampire/werewolf film, and from what I understand, the book series it's based on does indeed include werewolves, but what I can't determine is whether or not the first book (and thereby this film) has any werewolves in it. Anyone know for certain? I gather there is a bit of interest in these books and this movie out there, but I'm not really part of that circle. My little sister has informed me she plans to read them this summer, so maybe I'll just have to wait on her to get my answer about this being a new werewolf movie or not.

I looked on it IMDB listing and there's no mention of werewolves. Perhaps they come later in the series and if so they won't be in the first movie.

Did some more digging, and IMDB has a listing for a character who is apparently a werewolf. However, I also found confirmation of the poster before me's comment that there are no werewolves until the second book. So apparently this character's wolfiness does not come to light in book/film one.
To that poster (assuming he/she has read the books), I also pose a question: what kind of werewolves are in the books? Do they turn into regular wolves, or are they two-legged man-wolves or what?

I only read the second book, so no more ?, but they transform into grizzly bear sized werewolves, they can control there changing, but they have temper tantraums that make them change. They are described as skinwalkers of native american myth, and they transorm by basicly bursting out of their skin
