Just saw an ad on ABC Family for a new made-for-TV movie called "Nature of the Beast." It's about a girl who gets engaged, then finds that her fiance is a werewolf. Then he tries to convince her to stick with him. I think there might be an evil werewolf lurking around, too.
It looks like it could be really good, as far as TV movies are concerned. I think it's a romantic comedy-horror (it said "Viewer Discretion Advised"). The scenes they showed of the werewolf (or werewolves) had two different designs...a biped wolf-style, and a big, hairy, dog-faced guy style (think "Werewolf Concerto" from "Tales from the Crypt").
It's set to premiere on October 21 as part of ABC Family's "13 Days of Halloween" gimmick they do every year. Now I'm excited.

Hopefully one of the tv networks will decided to show it over here too. That or it'll come out on dvd before I forget about it

I'm not sure if/when ABC Family releases their movies on DVD. Anyone have any idea? I guess I could look, but I don't remember the names of any of their movies.

There have been some pretty good jokes so far...and not that many actually dealing with the werewolf aspect.
"Is something wrong with your leg?"
(Limping) "No, the other one's just so much better!"

Its over now. pretty good overall. Not much for the transformation scenes, though, and the Main werewolf's look is kinda annoying, I guess it has to do with the whole Beta wolf and Alpha wolf thing in the story line, the Alpha look is more on, but he STILL is only walking on 2 legs. I would have like to see more 4 legged running and movement. the jokes were pretty funny too. I do like that other leg is better joke. that was good. I do like the one "...and he's not writing in his cabin and I don't wanna marry a werewolf!".
so, I give a 7-8/10. GREAT storyline, lotta cussing though, and the special effects weren't exactly the best either, but definatly good. Maybe I can get a rated version or something when it comes out on DVD

"Lot of cussing" What do you normally watch? Yeah, there was some stuff I was surprised to see in an ABC Family movie but I didn't pay attention to see if it was made by them or just bought and shown like those so-called "Sci Fi Channel Originals" that the SciFi Channel had nothing to do with. I enjoyed it. Better than I expected and quite frankly better than some of the other indie werewolf movies that's been out lately even if it was "softcore." Decent storyline. Good writing and acting. Some laughs. The lead actress is cute. Works for me. Anyway... I recorded it and will probably keep it. Good acting, decent story, good make-up and costumes (the "alpha wolf" was better than a lot of werewolf designs I've seen). I was a bit disappointed with the ending; I was hoping they would end up both being werewolves and live happily ever after in a cabin in the woods, eating deer or whatever. Instead, he just gets cured and they get married, and that's the end. I don't know if this will come out on DVD. From what I've seen, no ABC Family originals have aired anywhere outside of their channel.

Yeah I liked the movie. I was pleasantly surprised by it. Good story, the acting was good, especially with the two leads. And I liked the look of the werewolf as well. Wished they had done at least a full on transformation scene, but the reversion scenes were good though.
Overall, it was well done, a heck of a lot better than some of the made for video werewolf films that's been out there these days. And I don't know, the way they have been promoting this movie, with the mini website they've posted and all the interviews and behind the scenes stuff, I have a feeling it may be coming to DVD. I may be wrong, but we'll see.
BTW, they're reairing the movie tonight at 8PM ET.
