P.S What the hell is Lacrosse (sp?)? A sport. Honestly from what I've seen it's a bit like what would happen if Field Hocky had a baby with Football.

I enjoyed the series, though the CGI on the Alpha werewolf was horrible. The Beta werewolves were good and worked well.
Keywolf, Lacrosse is kind-of like hockey accept the ball is in the air not on the ground, so you through and catch it using the netting on the end of the stick. Your allowed to hit each others sticks to dislodge the ball. Your not allowed to touch the ball with your hand or foot, and your not allowed to hit your opponent with the stick (though when I played this at school, fingers were fair game - and we didn't have all that protection like they did in the series - guess like rugby and american football, us English are 'harder' and don't need armour - or should that be we're dumber?).

So, I ended up watching season 1. The CGI ranged from "okay" to "claw my eyes out," but overall, much to my surprise, I was impressed. It was a lot darker than I thought it'd be, and the character interaction was actually really good. So, yeah. I actually recommend it. Never expected to see the day I'd be endorsing an MTV series.

Likewise, I wasn't always impressed by the effects, but I did like the series overall. I suspect Lacrosse was only thrown in to acknowledge the role that sports played in the TEEN WOLF movie (and it's sequel), because other than this element, the story bears no resemblance to the movie that supposedly inspired it.

Season 2 has started on UK TV. Though I think I may have missed an episode, not sure. For those that are interested it's on Sunday 8pm I was lucky to find it, as not seen any adverts for it. But, I was flicking through the channels after watching Sinbad and found it

Woah, thanks Marcus, hadn't heard a single thing about the second series starting already. Had to jump in at episode 2 but I think I got the gist of it.... It may not be great (or even good, haha) but I'm glad it's back!

Bit of a spoiler below, so you've been warned.
Why is it, that TV series like this cannot just stick with one type of monster and be done? They always seem to want to introduce other monsters as a show progresses.
Now we've got a werelizard running about with paralysing venom in it's claws.
Anyone know why, the Alpha hasn't changed to look like the alpha design from season 1? but still looks like a beta wolf?

Werelizard? I rest my case with shows like this. Have vampires hit town yet?

No vampires yet. They're probably saving them for next season.

Wasn't going to give this a real chance until I heard more than a few good things (sorry MTV, you lost me ages ago), but glad to hear it isn't abysmal. I'll be looking for a cheap copy of the first season soon.

Season 1 - Pleasantly suprised overall Season 2 - Not bad but no need of were-lizards !!!!! Season 3 - Looks like we got a gang of Alpha's as the bad guys so I will give it a look !!!

No offense but wererwolves should face other monsters/creatures. Why should vampires be the only ones to face other species of monsters and supernaturals? Besides who doesn't want to see werewolves kick some monster ass.

A different point of view is never an offense, slaughteredlamb.
It's more that when they do this in films/series (wether it's werewolves, vampires, superheros) it often comes across to me, that they are just escalating things for the sake of escalating, rather than working on what they have and adding depth to the setting.
A few series doesn't make me feel that way, Being Human is the most obvious off the top of my head. I think that works really well with the different supernaturals.
So I guess I'm saying it's more the apparent Why, rather than the actual creatures which I tend to dislike. If that makes sense?

A few series doesn't make me feel that way, Being Human is the most obvious off the top of my head. I think that works really well with the different supernaturals. Got to agree with this. I don't object to pitting supernatural forces against each other, but they need to have a real plan together to make it work. I can't tell you how excited I was when I first heard the concept of the Underworld series coming around years ago. Just the thought of werewolves vs. vampires was pretty awesome. And that's what I got... vampires vs. werewolves... with guns. I just didn't really take to the execution, and much of the series seemed like a big mess. In a show like The Vampire Diaries, which I enjoy overall, the werewolf idea just seems like a plot inclusion to give the vampires a weakness/natural enemy. They don't really go out of their way (at least up until the end of the second season) to give the werewolves their own deep mythology and place within the series. From what I hear, they're included in True Blood for the sake of having them there. As Marcus said, Being Human probably does the best job of integrating the two "races" together in a common setting, and even then you don't get a lot of face to face conflict between the two communities. It feels like we've rarely (if ever) had a big face off between the two that really served as a showcase to the abilities and strengths of them both. Either the werewolves catch the vamps by surprise with their speed coming out of the shadows, and kill quickly before the vamps can get away, or the vampires have easy access to the lycan's weaknesses and take them down without too much trouble. I'm still waiting for someone to come along and give us something with proper balance and excitement for fans of both sides. As for Teen Wolf, I get the feeling that if vampires are introduced at some point, it will be to provide a new flavor of adversity to a new season. Kind of the reverse of how TVD did it. Not saying that's wrong, as each series is dedicated to one side in particular, and has no obligation to give too much focus to the other. In the end, I guess what I'm saying is that throwing another mythology into the mix is fine if you can pull it off, but certainly not necessary. All that said, I hope I enjoy the new season of Teen Wolf as much as the first two regardless of what direction they decide to go in. They did a pretty good job of exceeding expectations, and offer a show I can get behind so far.
