Hi, I posted on these boards a while ago about a werewolf film I've wrote and that I'm currently Directing, Dense Fear II. Things went on hold for a while, as this movie was been funded from my own pocket, but we are now back on track, and with some professional help we have now just completed a big Transformation scene. All the Effects in this movie are old school, so there's no C.G.I involved, this is An American Werewolf In London style fx on a lot smaller budget, but hopefully will be a treat for any Werewolf fans who prefer the older werewolf films. Check out the Teaser Trailer, see if this takes your fancy Filming is Continuing, and we are hoping for a release some time later in the year To keep up to Date with our film Check out the official website www.densefear2.webs.com Thanks for checking this out Tony

Sounds like getting this film done is something like a coup. All practical effects? Color me interested.
Best wishes.

Nice looking transformation scene you have there. It's a joy to see a film not relying on CGI for special effects. Long Live animatronics and good make up effects!

Yeh i have never personally been a huge fan of c.g.i werewolves, i like to see a transformation be a little more slower and more painful, call me sadistic! lol! but men jumping in to mid air and turning in to wolves in the blink of an eye, just doesn't work for me. This was my goal with this movie, to bring back the old school fx.
Check out this behind the scenes look at the transformation.

It's not being sadistic. Your asking a human body to become a different shape, it should hurt and frankly i like to see them screaming like David did in AAWIL. He made me believe when i was a kid!

To me it all boils down to the nature of the werewolfism that is being used in a particular mythos.
A transformation should be painful if the person is 'cursed' as a curse is a punishment not a gift. So hurting and uncontrolled savagry makes sense.
If, on the other hand, the werewolf is due to magic, or a 'blessing' (ie the ones in twilight), than having the transformation happen quickly and painlessly is I think acceptable as long as there is a plausable reason for how they change from man to wolf.

Hey guys, This is a reply to a pretty old thread, but i just want to say a big thank you to everyone for your kind words ..it's always great to see that people still love the old School practical fx. After a very on and off year of filming, i now have a set date for this film's on-line premiere, it will be shown on the 27th of October 2012 and will be played exclusively live on our website around 10pm UK time which i think works out around 4-5pm in the USA. If your really interested in watching this feature, just pop along to our website www.densefear2.webs.com and check out the countdown clock to make sure you don't miss it! On the night of the premiere we will also have a live chatroom up and running before the movie so you guys can get together and talk werewolf stuff Here's the new teaser for our movie, hope you enjoy

Cool. Thanks for the update and the info on the online showing.
Will add it to my diary, stick it on my fridge door, Put a post-it on my computer, and tie a knot in my hanky.
Hopefully that'll be enough for me to remember.
