This is a monster/cowboy film.
The basic premise is that a homestead family go missing one night. Thinking it was Indians, a group of local cowboys along with a squad of cavalry set off to track down the Indians and rescue the kidnapped people. Unfortunately for them, it turns out it wasn't the Indians but ancient creatures that now the buffalo are being wiped out are looking for an alternative food source.
I was really surprised with how much I enjoyed this film. Admittedly the monsters looked a bit silly, but the acting was good, the characters interesting, and the feel of the setting was a decent western feel.
All I can say is go into this film expecting it to be low budget and you'll be pleasantly surprised with how well they did with what they had.

I really enjoyed this movie as well. I don't think it suffered from a low budget though. The biggest thing this movie suffered from was it's pace. To me it took to long to get where it was going. Clancy Brown was awesome as always.
