Let me hear your HOWLS people!
As a fellow Werewolf fan, I want to know what you want to see (and hell what you don't want to see) for our beloved sub-genre.

Let me hear your HOWLS people! As a fellow Werewolf fan, I want to know what you want to see (and hell what you don't want to see) for our beloved sub-genre. An interesting premise / setting / plot development A movie needs to have something to distinguish it to some degree from other werewolf movies. Otherwise why spend an hour and a half watching it? Reasonably good acting Unbelievable performances blow the suspension of disbelief and the movie does not work. And remember that werewolves require more than a modicum of disbelief suspension to begin with. A not embarrassingly bad or stupid werewolf design I do not care if it is more wolf than man or vice versa as long as it is scary looking. Originality also counts but is not essential. CGI is not necessarily out of the question but it means there is no acting going on. Also it tends to foster laziness. Remember the vampires in I Am Legend? Maybe someone should try the LOTR/Gollum technique, CGI overlay on a live actor. That would potentially allow some real creativity while preserving actor interaction. Whatever gore is appropriate for the milieu The Wolfman (1941) is a great movie with no gore at all because it was not allowed then. A PG-13 movie will not be able to go over the top on gore but if it satisfies the other requirements and is otherwise worth watching that is acceptable. Whether a movie gets made/released might depend on its rating; better it gets seen than not. If possible, lots of gore is fine but it should not be the entire reason for the movie. And it should build up. Going all out in the opening scene does not cut it. Grosser than thou is not a reasonable premise for a movie. It needs to serve a purpose in the context of the story. My $0.02 anyway.

What I want in a werewolf film, is for the werewolf to be the antagonist, the villain! the Big Bad! the ravaging, hunting, emotionally overcharged blood soaked monstrosity - ok, he can also chase balls in the park on a Sunday.
What I really want in a werewolf film, is for it to be a horror film with a rating of 18, not some 15 or (gods forgive)PG rated castrated film.
Gore, Gore and more Gore! If you've not exhausted all the fake blood in the LA region after making the film, you didn't do enough gore!
Awesome transformation, this is a key element that shouldn't be missed or skimped over.
Don't mind if it's about a single werewolf or a pack. But never been fond of werewolf vs werewolf, where you have one that's a good guy and one that's a bad guy. No, bad puppy, stop it!
Comedy can be fun too, as long as it's not the werewolf that's the joke. The werewolf should be scary, sinister, and sneaky.
A little eroticisum can also be good too, as long as it fits the story, and isn't just jammed in there for the sake of flashing some skin.
This is just off the top of my head, and I've not actually thought it through, or tried over explaining. I'm just tired of soft werewolf film (some of which I really liked) it's just that there is a need, as far as I am concerned, for a few true horror based werewolf films.

ok, he can also chase balls in the park on a Sunday. Depending on meaning that is either PG or 18. Or maybe even a "nasty".

I want a movie with no CGI, biped designs and werewolves with longish snouts. Oh and an 18 certificate.
