Bitten, any good?

I have the strongest feeling there is a thread for Bitten already, but I couldn't see it when I checked.

Been thinking of picking up the DVDs for this series, but wanted to check first with anyone that's seen it on their opinions.

Is the feel of the series like teen wolf? or vampire diaries? or is it more gritty? or more soft and squishy?

I have not seen it myself. I tend to prefer once and done movies to series - just personal preference.

Reviews seem to be all over the place with viewers liking it usually more than critics. But a surprising number of viewers hated it.

Not seen it but have read that it is very different from the novels and i'm a fan of the novels so unless it hits Sky at some point i'll probably give it a miss.

I tried a few episodes of Bitten. Could not really get into it. It strikes me as too much of a soap opera and too little of a horror story. Am I missing anything of significant value by not continuing to watch?
