Saw this one back in 1956, my first ever werewolf movie, and saw it again just now on Dailymotion. Man hurt in accident becomes guinea pig for doctors working on a way for people to survive the radiation from nuclear warfare. Only a few people that they select, of course. This ensures that they qualify as evil mad scientists and not misguided altruists. The irradiated wolf serum (I remembered it as radioactive wolf blood) they use sometimes has side effects. Like with their unwilling subject. I remember the movie as being pretty scary in parts to my nine year old self with stretches of boredom in between. This time around the scares are less scary to my ' jaded with many werewolf movies' self and the in-betweens still rather boring. I still enjoyed the scene where the doctors want to kidnap him from jail and he turns out to be in werewolf form and kills them. The werewolf look is pretty good. Head and mask is all but rather well done. Too bad the transformation is a rather clumsy cross dissolve. I recall that in the way back I was less impressed with the look because it reminded me of the Yorkie we had at the time.
