I totally forgot that Marc Antony's funeral speech for Caesar contains a reference to the Lupercal, which was celebrated on February 15 in the cave under the Palatine Hill in Rome where Romulus and Remus were suckled by the she-wolf. The Valentine's Day movies last month blew it out of my mind that St. Valentine was executed the day before the Lupercal. A wolf holiday that slipped away from me. Got to put it on the calendar for next time.
