I was surfing through the onscreen cable movie guide and came across The White Crow. The blurb was "A homosexual ballet dancer defects from Russia" Um, like this was the most important thing they could have said about Nureyez? Grainy B+W and poor audio. But this is what Rudolf Nureyev was all about. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_De2BeQggT4

Very tacky.
Wasn't he the first Soviet dancer and artist of any kind to defect?
About a decade or more before Mikail Baryshnikov did.

Nureyev defected in Paris in 1961, Baryshnikov defected in Canada in 1974.
Sadly Nureyev died at the too young age of 54. Baryshnikov is 72 and although no longer performs ballet he remains active in his Arts Center in NYC.

Mikhail also did some acting on film and tv.
Which includes being one of Carrie Bradshaw's boyfriends on SATC.
