Mighty Joe Young (1949)
The other big monkey
ALIENS (1986)
Well, since I watched ALIEN last week...
The Dinosaur Project (2012)
Pretty much a cut-rate Jurassic Park but done pretty well. Found footage film about a group going deep into the Congo to find dinosaurs.
Midnight Screening (2021)
A 'slasher stalks a movie theater' film, which sounded like something I'd like. According to the IMDb it was filmed covertly during the COVID lockdown with the crew leaving paint buckets and such around the theater they filmed in so people would think they were contractors doing work. That's the most entertaining thing about it. Apparently, the writer/director worked in the theater because about 4 hours of its hour-and-ten-minute runtime was devoted to the employees cleaning up and complaining about the customers.
Also keeping up with the new season of True Detective (never watched it before, but Jodie Foster...), almost done with Mr. & Mrs. Smith on Amazon. And looking forward to the new season of Expedition X starting this week.
Oh, and watched my Police Squad Blu-ray finally after buying it a year or so ago.

True Detective, Night Country
Part 4
This season has a chokehold on me, how will they wrap things up in the final two episodes?

The Marvels (2023)
The latest Marvel superhero film has hit Disney+. It was fun and it'll still be a while before I get the 3D Blu-ray so I went ahead and watched it again. I do admit that the franchise is starting to collapse under its weight as I can imagine people who haven't been keeping up with the Marvel TV shows in Disney+ feeling left out.
Earth vs. the Flying Saucers (1956)
Saw it in the "Leaving Soon" tab on Tubi.
My Bloody Valentine (2009)
My favorite of the slasher remakes, an opinion no doubt helped by the fact that I'm a sucker for 3D.
Dog Soldiers (2002)
Couldn't watch all of Shout! Factory TV's "Wolf Bowl" today but I did happen to turn it on just in time for this classic to start.
Also the latest episode of True Detective, and I've almost finished the first season of Good Morning, Veronica on Netflix. And started the new season of Expedition X.
Spent most of my viewing time this weekend with Les Stroud's Survivorman. I was watching it back when I had cable TV but lost track after I "cut the cord." The series is on Tubi now so I was burning thru the season where he decided to go out and look into the whole 'Bigfoot' thing.

We worked all week for the first time since November so not much time to watch stuff...
ALIEN 3 (1992) ALIEN Resurrection (1997)
The last time I watched the first two I had planned on going for all four but that didn't happen so, since I was in an ALIEN mood again, I went for it, watching the 2003 editions of each on the ALIEN Anthology Blu-ray set. I haven't seen either in so long there wasn't much I could identify as being added or changed. No, I don't plan on continuing on with Prometheus or Covenant (unless a cheap 3D Blu-ray version falls into my lap).
I finished the first season of Good Morning, Veronica on Netflix. Wasn't sure I was going to continue but the ending of the season has me thinking I'll see how it shakes out in season 2. Finished the Bigfoot season of Survivorman on Tubi, too. And started the new seasons of various alphabet shows - NCIS, FBI, SWAT...

Another quiet one, movie-wise, at least...
Outland (1981)
I was still in a bit of an ALIEN mood, but not enough of one to sit thru Prometheus or Covenant again, so I went with this Sean Connery flick that isn't officially connected but shares so much in terms of the look and the ideas of the "company" that rules over all that it's a pretty good fit. Usually described as "High Noon in space." I need to get the Blu as my DVD is ancient and I think it may be rotting...the picture was pretty horrible. Kind-of reminded me of the old crappy downtown theater we'd go to once in a while when I was a kid, tho.
Kids vs. Aliens (2023)
Okay, just a coincidence that this one happened to be about aliens but I've had it on my watch list for a bit and just realized it snuck past me and is on Hulu now. Kind of similar to Psycho Goreman in tone, as aliens attack a Halloween house party and several young kids and an older sister have to fight to stay alive. I thought it was fun.
I started Constellation on Apple+ or whatever they call it. Need to get a couple of other streaming shows finished so I can start up some others while keeping up with the "regular" network stuff I watch.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023)
The latest, and I guess last, of the 'Snyderverse' DC superhero movies. I didn't mind it up until the end credits and they had some annoying remix of Steppenwolf's "Born to Be Wild." Some things you just don't mess with.
Komodo (1999)
This first came to my attention because it's set in my home state (North Carolina). The second thing that caught my eye is that the only streaming place where it's available is Amazon, for either a $20 rental or an $85 purchase. For a middling 90s giant critter film. Luckily, some kind soul put it up on YouTube. As for the NC setting? A cop car has a Georgia license plate. And it was filmed in Australia. Oh, well...
Six Million Dollar Man / Bionic Woman: Kill Oscar (1976)
Pulled out the Blu-rays to watch this classic three-parter. Parts one and three were Bionic Woman episodes with The Six Million Dollar Man handling part two. The crossover episodes would stop when The Bionic Woman changed networks and only Richard Anderson and Martin E. Brooks would carry their characters (Oscar Goldman and Rudy Wells, respectively) between both shows.

Francesca Quinn, PI (2022)
Mainly watched it because it stars Mallory Jansen, who I liked in Galavant. On Peacock.
Damsel (2024)
Millie Bobby Brown's latest Netflix outing, about a girl who is married into a royal family only to find out it's so they can sacrifice her to the local dragon. She has issues with this plan.
Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
You know I can't go too long without pulling out a Spider-Man disc. All the movies are set to come back to theaters this year but so far none are within a hundred miles of me.
Warcraft (2016)
Based on the online multiplayer game (which I don't play). Found the 3D Blu-ray for cheap.
Drive Angry 3D (2011)
Nicolas Cage being all Nicolas Cagey as a man chasing down the cult that has killed his daughter and kidnapped his infant grandchild. Lots of action/blood/etc. Fun stuff.
Poor Things (2023)
Odd little twist on the Frankenstein story. I liked it. On Hulu.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011)
Another 3D Blu-ray of Nicolas Cage driving angrily
Bodies Bodies Bodies (2022)
Twenty-somethings having a hurricane party decide to play a 'murder' game that gets pretty intense. Netflix
Werewolf (aka Silverhide) (2015)
Tubi lists it as 'Werewolf' which is how they suckered me in because I had decided long ago that 'Silverhide' sounded too bad even for me to watch. I was right.
Bionic Woman: Fembots in Las Vegas (1976)
Since I watched the 'Kill Oscar' trilogy not long ago I decided to watch the two-part follow-up. Post network switch so Steve was nowhere to be found (or even mentioned).
Road House (2024)
Amazon felt the need to have a Road House remake. I thought it was entertaining enough.

Top Gun (1986)
A few years back when 3D was still doing pretty good they converted this one (along with a few others) and I finally got around to watching it.
Lisa Frankenstein (2024)
This was pretty entertaining. On Peacock.
The Marvels (2023)
You know me and the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. I enjoyed this one and bought the disc. 3D for me, of course.
War for the Planet of the Apes (2017)
A friend let me borrow his disc so I could finish this trilogy and then it dropped on Hulu just days later.
Festival of the Living Dead (2024)
New direct sequel to Romero's original, courtesy of the Soska Sisters (from Dead Hooker in a Trunk and American Mary fame, among others). A Tubi original.
Night Swim (2024)
The haunted swimming pool movie finally hit Peacock.
Spirit Halloween: The Movie (2022)
Yeah, a kid flick but hey, Halloween stuff is always in season as far as I'm concerned. On Prime and Tubi.
Byte (2023) Hellhounds (2024)
Both of these new werewolf movies also hit Tubi. Low budget (like pretty much all of them these days, it seems) but not as low as a lot of the stuff I've watched lately. Of the two Hellhounds is probably the better one, but I didn't hate myself for watching either.
Fallout (2024)
Watched the new series on Amazon, based on the long-running game series. I've played enough of the games to be super-impressed by how closely they adapted the world but not enough to "catch" them on anything so I enjoyed the heck out of it.
