The other day in my senior thesis class, one of my classmates had a brace on her leg. I wanted to believe she got it from defending the planet from aliens, but apparently, she got it from stomping at her dog for being bad. But then she revealed that her dog is actually a full-blooded wolf.
From what I can remember, she said she got it when some friends of her had it and it had been raised for a little while by a dog. She referred to it like it was still a puppy, even though she said ishe'd had it for a couple years now. Anyway, it's a wolf. That's cool.

I know in england it's illegal, ever since they brought in the dangerous animal regulations back in the 70s (or was it early 80s?) - before that it was legal, infact you could own lions, tigers, bears, oh my!
Don't know about other countries though.
I do know that not too long ago there were a lot of talk about those dog/wolf crossbreeds being dangerous.
I wonder if this forum collectively should sponsor a wolf? I know there's a few places to do that, including one in america, and one in scotland.

That would be interesting. How's that work?
Will they shave the website's url on both sides of the wolf's body and let him/her out into the wild? Someone make a Photoshop of that.

I saw a programme on animal planet the other day where they raided a farm that was breeding wolf dogs for sale on the commercial market. Apparently it was illegal to sell wolves as pets there (some in America) but if they had some dog blood in them it became okay? It was awful to watch. The conditions the breeding animals were kept in were horrendous. They lifted this large flat rock and there was a mother with cubs under it and she was so ill she never even attempted to defend herself. These puppies sell for big bucks in america but when they grow up there still more wolf than dog and a lot are being given away by their owners who just cannot cope. This woman was running a sanctuary for them. It all seemed very sad.

Wolf-dog hybrids are a bad idea, period.

Well, with all this said, I don't know how she gets away with it. Any chance she could just be making it up? As much as i would love to think i could own one as a pet, wolves are definately best left in the wild. I got an email through asking me to lobby my member of congress to attempt to get hunting from the air banned as people are hunting wolves this way. But since i'm not american i don't have a member of congress. They must still have my email address from when i sisgned that petition that was posted on here. Have people really got nothing better to do than pay good money to rent a helicopter and shot at a defeneless animal!

Those that do it as a sport think it makes them a "hunter" rather than a "prat".
I think they'd like it a lot less if there were hidden snippers on the ground, shooting back at them.
