Well...at least two are reprints, but still....
Thanks to the latest issue of "Rue Morgue" magazine I found out Leisure Books is putting out three werewolf books this year:
Shapeshifter by J.F. Gonzalez came out on Jan. 2.
Thomas Tessier's Nightwalker is due Jan. 29 and Ravenous by Ray Garton is coming in April.
(dates courtesy of Amazon)
Shapeshifter and Nightwalker are reprints...not sure about Ravenous but I didn't see any other versions on a couple of my book-search sites.
And the best part is they aren't likely to end up in the romance section.
Meanwhile, I recently finished Carrie Vaughn's Kitty and the Silver Bullet and am starting on Patricia Briggs's Iron Kissed.
They're the 4th and 3rd books about these particular shape-shifters and they're all great. Depending on your bookstore they might end up in the romance section (this latest Kitty book did here, while the other three stayed in the s-f/fantasy section - go figure) but don't let that put you out - they're a lot of fun and what romance aspect there is isn't the main plot.
I like the Kitty books better because she's actually a werewolf - Mercy Thompson (of the Briggs books) is actually a fox (in several senses of the word) but hangs out with werewolves and fae and vampires....
ArcLight sez check 'em out....

I'm still wondering if I should buy Confessions of the Werewolf Supermodel. That's another that's in the romance section, so it worries me.
So there are sequels to Kitty and the Midnight Hour? Now I should really read it.
I wish I could get more werewolf books in audio format. I have trouble finding the patience to complete a novel, because I have to sit still and read it. I've still got Wolf's Trap lying around somewhere, not even a quarter finished, even though it's been good so far (and some pages are falling out, but that's not my fault).

Nightwalker is really good! I hunted down an old battered copy after reading Stephen King's Danse Macabre where he describes it as his favourite werewolf book.

I've only read two werewolf films from memory. One was written by the sister of Anne Rice (or was it her cousin, I forget), and the other was called Vargr Moon, which is the 2nd book in a trilogy. Oh, and one that was based in viking period, where a girl was cursed with lycanthropy. Oh, and one about a girl in roman times that was trying to hide her nature, and avoid a marriage I think. Ok, so I may have read more that 2

I've only read two werewolf films from memory. I think you meant "books." Alice Borchardt is Anne Rice's sister, and she wrote The Silver Wolf, Night of the Wolf and The Wolf King. I have the first one, but I've never bothered to read it. I don't really like stories that take place in ancient times. And now that I look at the back cover, I see that the last book you described is The Silver Wolf. Don't know anything about the Viking one, though. I read a short story about a werewolf in Viking times, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't about a girl. Anybody read The Wereling? I haven't, I'm just curious to know if it's any good.

The one set in Roman times is Silver Wolf by Alice Borchardt. I have read that one but found it very hard going, same with Night of the Wolf so i never bothered with the other one she wrote.
