This is a thread for random werewolf movie trivia!
Basically I just went on quest to find the most financially successful movie ever made to feature a werewolf. After a bit of searching, the answer was pretty obvious - "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" ($789,458,727 worldwide, 16th highest grossing movie ever).
That is, unless you count the talking wolf man from "Shrek 2" ($880,871,036 worldwide, 8th highest grossing).
It seems hard to find a successful one that isn't already part of a franchise, though. Werewolves generally don't make for big box-office.

Bound to be Harry Potter, i mean it was a movie featuring a werewolf that you could take the kids to see! Plus loads of adults are also potter fans.
I'd never considered the wolf in Shrek as a werewolf, i'm not sure why. Even thinking about it now i still don't.
I wonder what would happen if you did a search on the highest grossing DVD sale from a werewolf movie? Would it still be Potter or might AAWIL beat it?

I think it would still be Prisoner of Azkaban, by quite a way. Can't keep up with ol' Harry I'm afraid!
More random trivia -- the highest-budget movie to feature a werewolf? I'm pretty sure it's "Van Helsing", with a ridiculous budget of $160,000,000.
Incidentally, I always thought Van Helsing was a flop, but it turns out it actually made over $300 million worldwide. 60% of that was from non-US countries, though, since Universal cleverly opened it in 41 countries simultaneously.

Your probably right. Harry does seem to monopolise doesn't he. I just wondered because i thought AAWIL had been released twice on DVD. Once normally and once for the 25th Anniversary, i thought that might help tip the scales but people do just love that wizard! Or perhaps like me they prefer Lupin!
I know critics really slated Van Hesling but judging by those figures no one took any notice of them! In fact i'm surprised there hasn't been a sequel before now.....
