"Skinwalkers" supposedly came out on August 10. Today is August 11, and I can't find it playing anywhere. What gives? It's not even in the special theaters where the limited release films go. Anybody hear anything about this?

It's not in my town either and it's too hot to worry about going to another town to see it...

Must be a limited release I guess. But at least it's playing in YOUR country ...

Anybody hear anything about this? It opened in the US on a pitiful 737 screens (as oppossed to a regular wide release of 3000 pus) and made a miniscule $175,000 on Friday (a tiny $235.00 per screen average). It will be gone from most screens i'd imagine by next week. Best bet is for a fairly quick DVD release.

I found three theaters playing it, but they're all more than 19 miles away (that's roughly 30.5 kilometers for you who use a more sensible measurement system). I don't feel like driving thirty minutes for a movie. I hardly go to the local theater these days. Maybe it'll end up in the $2 theater later.

That's what I'm hoping for - that it'll hit our cheapie theater. Sure, I can watch it at home but I like watching movies on the big screen.

But at least it's playing in YOUR country ... Exactly! Who have you got to probe round here to get decent movies shown at the cinema?

I wouldn't bemoan the inability to see it too much. The reviews have been absolutely dismal, and even the horror fan sites haven't had anything good to say about it.

I never set any store by what critics or other people say, i always prefer to see a film myself and make my own mind up about it and whilst i will always given an honest opinion on what i thought of a film i will always advise others to see it and make their own mind up about it.

That's right. I heard a lot of crap about "Blood & Chocolate," but I saw it anyway and I liked it. And that's only the first example that came to my head.

Holy cow. Neat. Probably illegal for it to be up there, but not for us to watch it...might want to get to it soon, though, before it gets taken down.

I totally forgot about that site, but that's okay. I saw the film last week on DVD. Not bad, I thought. I actually liked the designs. The girl werewolf could've used more fur, since the guys were covered in it. I might add the film to my collection later.
It wasn't exactly what I'd expected as far as the plot...I thought all the werewolves would be able to control themselves, but apparently it's only the ones that have tasted blood that can. And that's only because they've been completely taken over by the wolf, so they beast is always in control. I also thought the tag line, "They Hunt Us," was misguiding. That sounds like a tagline for "Wolfen" or some slasher-style movie. This movie was more of a team vs. team film.
I think low-budget movies could learn some stuff from the "Skinwalkers" designs. Even if a big, "Underworld" or "Bad Moon" style monster is what you want, if you don't have the money for it, it'll just come out looking silly and ruin the rest of the movie. Concentrate on making a "Wolf Man" style monster look good instead.
If some company ever goes ahead with a "Werewolf By Night" theatrical adaptation, they "Skinwalkers" design would be perfect for Jack Russel.

Just watched Skinwalkers. I kind of liked it. I was a bit worried for a while as the first half plays out like a crappy action movie but it really picks up when the werewolf angle becomes more important. The whole thing reminded me strangely of John Carpenter's Vampires. I'd give it a 6/10 edging towards a 7.
