SciFi Channel is going to star airing "Special Unit 2" next Friday (in the US, at least). Aside from being a fun show the second episode - "The Pack" - deals with our favorite furry friends.

Thanks, I'll watch it if I remember. Actually, I'll have to record it. Hope it's good.

Watching the first episode now. Danny Woodburn is a regular! He used to play Mickey Abbott, Kramer's midget friend, on "Seinfeld"! Recently, he's just been in Burger King commercials.
Just thought I'd mention that.

I finished watching the second episode of SU2, so now I can comment on it. It deals with a pack of werewolves (which they call "Thropes," because apparently the term "werewolf" doesn't cover it) who are killing people in the city during the full moon. SU2 catches one and interrogates him, but he won't talk. So, O'Malley (the token smart-aleck lead male) gets himself bitten so he can go undercover.
The thropes are actually big-time stock brokers. They don't have to eat or sleep when they're human, so they can just work 24-7 and make money. Plus, they don't feel sympathy, so they never have trouble dealing with clients and stuff.
There aren't any transformation scenes. It turns out that the thropes change gradually as the full moon nears, much like Ginger in "Ginger Snaps," only a lot quicker (like, a day). They don't show any of them changing, besides giving O'Malley a hairy hand and claws. The werewolves themselves look similar to those in "Curse of the Werewolf" and "The Monster Squad." They all wear suits, though, which is odd; you'd think they'd be smart enough to take them off so they don't get ruined.
There's also a cure for lycanthropy, but it only works if administered within a certain time after contracting the virus (i.e., being bitten)

Man, it was good to see SU2 again. I wish it'd hit DVD.

Ah. Well, I guess I don't need to think too deeply about whether or not the show will survive.

Sorry for the lack of warning but SciFi is doing another "Special Unit 2" marathon today (the 19th) and at 11AM (check local...aw, you know the deal) is the episode "The Pack."
Oh, and afterwards the X-Files episode "Jersey Devil" is supposed to be on.
