Yes it was pretty obvious! I have to say i've only bought season one of the X-Files and i only bought that because of the werewolf episode. I kinda wanted the werewolf to chase Scully down!
I did like the Native American Story line. Plus i'm surprised they never did another werewolf episode!

Well there was the season 7 episode "X-Cops" which begins as a werewolf story but then turns out to be something else. Did they ever do vampires, I wonder? I stopped watching it after the first few seasons and only vaguely remember those.

Yeah...they did vampires a couple times, I think. One was pretty funny.
I was kinda peeved at "X-COPS" because the previews made me think it was a straight werewolf episode instead of whatever it ended up being. Still a fun episode I guess.

I stopped watching it after the first few seasons and only vaguely remember those. Yeah - they did a couple of vampire shows. The best of which is the season 5 episode called Bad Blood. It's basically a black comedy starting with Mulder killing a vampire. The episode is then told in flashback as Mulder & Scully try to reconcile their differing perspectives of the case and what led up to Mulder killing the vamp before they go before an FBI panel to explain themselves. www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLFuIVtZO-4There are some cool scary bits, but it is also very funny. Luke Wilson guest stars as the local sheriff who Mulder remembers as a buck toothed yokel and Scully remembers as a handsome flirt. Funniest scene is Scully discovering a semi-drugged Mulder in his motel room singing the theme from Shaft. www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5Vby-6ZnF4The X-Cops episode may not actually be a werewolf, but check out the promo below. It is still a fab episode. www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_N8O2rckVELoved The X-Files.

Somebody e-mailed me about another X-files episode a while ago called "Alpha". Turned out it was more of a were-dog story, but could be noteable all the same.

On a slightly related note, both Ginger Snaps sisters turn up in season 5, Emily Perkins (briefly) in 'All Souls' and Katherine Isabelle in 'Schizogeny'.

Just finished watching season 6 on DVD and Alpha is one of the episodes. Very good it is too. It is basically a werewolf story except it is not a wolf, but a clever, vicious wolflike chinese dog that was thought long exinct. One gets tracked and captured in China by a creepy cryptozooologist, played by the great Andy Robinson of Dirty Harry, Hellraiser and Deep Space Nine fame. It gets shipped back to the US and promptly escapes from the ship and starts killing people. www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kNQXoerLUo
