Well I've finally seen it, i caught it on sky last night. It was good fun in places but i expected more in form of gore and suspense from Wes Craven. I was slightly disappointed with the werewolf design as i like them to have long muzzles like the ones in Dog Soldiers or William in Underworld: Evolution, although the dog was very cute when he turned. Plus all the teenage angst really gets on my nerves and the coming out of the lead bully was very predicable. Best Bit: Girl getting torn in half and trying to drag herself away. Worst Bit: The werewolf sticking ones up at Christina Rici? ?? I enjoyed it more than An American Werewolf in Paris and compared with The Howling 4: The Original Nightmare, which I've also just seen, it's bloody brilliant!

Am I the only one who likes the werewolf giving Christina the finger?

Don't get me wrong it made me laugh at the time but it was too much of a human gesture for my liking..........

But that's what I like about it. Werewolf stories are full of people who exhibit and rejoice in their wolf-like abilities while in human form - only seems fair that the wolf form can be 'human' (especially when being slandered so thoroughly by their victim) once in awhile.

I suppose..... But i've always been a fan of the idea that werewolves have no sense of what is being said or done around them when they change and only see humans as prey.... Am i making sense? Plus i prefer the tortured person who hates being a werewolf... I think it comes from being brought up on movies like the wolfman.

Really? I agree with them having a light human nature about them. That's [in my eyes] what makes them werewolves and not just deformed wolves. I agree with the look of the wolf. Though please admit it has better features than the Ginger Snaps werewolf[even though that's one of my favorite movies]. As for giving Ricci the finger. I thought that was hysterical. Maybe too human because the whole talking thing was not cool. I perfer growling over talking. I just saw this movie for the first time yesterday so, I may be in shock over seeing something that doesn't just trash werewolves like bad cartoon shows.

Perhaps the scene will grow on me. I don't know there's just something that bit i didn't like. Perhaps the unrated version i just ordered from America will change my opinion.

I got the unrated version when it came out, mainly for the transformation scene and the part where the werewolf gives Ellie the finger and gets filled with lead. That's my favorite part. Overall, though, it's the same movie with a little more blood.
Wes Craven hated making this movie. That's what I read in Fangoria Magazine. I didn't actually buy the issue, so I don't know all the reasons why, but you can tell that he just gives up by the end of it. The fact that the final, climactic fight scene had zero werewolves is proof enough of that. It's quite a shame, because this could have been a good film if they'd just done a monster vs. monster finish. It works for Underworld. But now I just can't stand to watch any of it after the first werewolf gets killed.

The final fight was a bit naff and i would have loved to have seen at least Joshua Jackson transform.
What did everyone think of the transformation scene? I quite liked that fact that her hair fell out first. Not quite sure why? I guess i'm just strange ;D

I thought the movie was a bit naff, it could've been so much more. Also the werewolf talking was a bad idea. The only movie that pulled of well was The Never Ending Story with the scene with Gmork.
I also agree that the final face off was bad, I would've loved to see a three-way werewolf face off. With them ripping chunks out of each other, and trashing the house in the process.
I guess if you want a Werewolf spoof Cursed is great if you want something serious your better of with Dog Soldiers or Ginger Snaps.

I've seen both the normal version and the unrated one. There's a lot more gore in the unrated. After all the normal version is a 15 cert!!
For example, in the car crash near the start, in the normal verison the woman is dragged off into the trees, in the unrated one, she's thrown back out to the other two with her lower half missing.
I agree that cursed could have been better, and I also find the scene with the finger a little disjointed feeling - though funny. I think it would have probably been better if the werewold hadn't said anything.
I also agree that having the werewolf in beast form having human characteristics/traits is a good idea - just like having the werewolf in human form exhibite some wolf characteristics.
I thought the one you see looking under the car as it walks past had really good looking legs.

However, it has the blue cover :/ My unrated version is a red cover so not much help i know. I could try and find out the running time on the unrated version and see if you can use that to work out which version has been released.
