...if they released a "Howling Sequel" box set. Disc 1: Howling 2 & 3. Disc 2: Howling 4 & 5. Disc 3: Howling 6 & 7 Disc 4: Trailers, docu on "The Howling", docu on werewolf movies, docu on Howling sequels, and some other stuff.
We know there is a cool Howling special edition out, and that some find that (although I havent seem 'em myself the sequels are not even worthy to walk in the origionals shadow, but woudn't it then be extra cool to have such a collection of films in one set and be able to own the whole series with two purchases?
I'dd waste my money on that one! ;D

Yeeah that would definitely be a must-own, regardless of how rubbish they are. They also need to release the tv shows 'werewolf' and 'she-wolf of london', 'I was a teenage werewolf', a special edition of 'ladyhawke' ... But at the moment I'm just psyched that Twin Peaks season 2 is finally coming to DVD.

I can't imagine numero II being that much crap, I mean it has Chris Lee in it!? Anything with Christopher Lee in it is worth watching in my book, nomatter how bad or how small his role is. And yeah, they should release "I Was a Teenage Werewolf" (double featured with "I Was a Teenage Frankenstein"?)

This "Howling" set would be good. I saw a two-pack at Wal-Mart that had #'s 5 and 6 (I think...the one with the people in the castle and the one called "The Freaks"). You know, I heard on the Werewolf Cafe forums that they might be making a "Howling" re-make. There's a little debate over whether it should follow the original movie or the book that inspired the movie. forum.werewolfcafe.com/viewtopic.php?id=1336

Meh. Much as I love the original, there's already been two movie versions of that story. There must be more werewolf literature they could draw upon, what about "Werewolf of Paris" or something? Now there's a new thread idea, "werewolf books that should be made into movies" ...

Thats what i thought to... And i even like bad movies Besides, Lees part is actually really big. probably third or forth biggest in the whole movie. But be warned. This movie isnt just bad because of bad acting and crappy script. Its a movie that will bore you. And thats the worst thing that can happen with a movie.

Well...Lee later went on to apologize to Joe Dante for taking part in "Howling II," so take from that what you will.
(but...I'm with you - Christopher Lee and Sybil Danning are two of my faves - I can force myself to sit thru it every so often)

I've been meaning to watch "Howling II" again so I can see how ridiculous it was. I saw it on TV a while ago, but I it's fading from my memory.

Lee apologizing to Dant means nothing to me...as much as I love the guy, Christopher Lee has a certain arrogance. He never appreciated his Dracula films (undisputed good films), he went bezerk when he heard his scene was cut from Lord of the Rings III...don't get me wrong, I love Lee. the actor AND the man. Arrogance build character Still, Lee would apologize for every horror flick if he had the chance (except "The Wicker Man", I heard he really likes that one)

With the amount of films Lee has been in, it must be difficult at this stage to distinguish the good ones. I'm sure Howling II isn't his worst ... "Hercules at the Center of the Earth" sounds pretty bad.

"Hercules and the Centre of the Earth" is one of the better ones, directed by Mario Bava. Although it's a real ain in the pass that their is no English language track made of the origional lines including Lee's. The english language version does not feature Lee's voice. Now there's yet another idea for a special edition dvd!

I'd never by the later howling films. I found them all to be really bad. Though Howling 2 has got to be one of the worst ones I've ever seen!! Not just as a werewolf film, but as any film!
What I think they should do. is scrap all the sequals, and than sit down and make one that the original howling film can be proud of.
Don't remember which number it is, but didn't they in effect remake the first one as one of hte sequals, with the town of werewolves, and so on, but with worse actors and cheaper budget?
